haha cr`eme biggrin.gif you can do better than that, the only part of it that i kind of like honestly is the scroll bar i tinted for you lol

about the slider: it is the apple slider, some one did an jquery tut on it, http://jqueryfordesigners.com/slider-gallery/

Cr`eme try to turn you're layout into a 2 or 3 column design, one column is usually boring. Look around for some .psd tuts or .pdn tuts (can't remember what you use) on how to create different button effects and images. Learn some basics with the program you use then try to apply them to a layout.

For a limited time I will be available for hire. Hurting on money right now because I've been out of work due to a back injury.

About Me
My name is Kevin DiGennaro. I've been with zymic for quite some time most recently I have spent most my time on the IRC network. I've been designing and coding for about 2 years. I have had many jobs, although most of these jobs have been working for kids who want a template for their video game site I have also had several projects that are fairly large (currently working on a guitar store and a music school). My expertise is mostly in graphic design, and particularly web design.

My Work

My Services
At this time I am offering custom web page designs. These designs are all unique meaning that once I sell it to you I will never sell it again. You will gang the rights to the design. I just ask that if you are asked who created it you be honest with them.

For a Limited time:
-Custom Unique web page design (one page) $35-$50.
*All my designs are standard one page designs, if you need more pages feel free to ask. I may through them in free, or maybe charge a 5-10 dollar fee per page.
*I set the price range at $35-$50. This is because each job is different, some are more involved and some are less.

What do you Get?
-You get the .PSD design.
-Full resell rights.
-Any additional pages that we have discussed.
*With this offer I am not offering coding. You must CODE YOUR OWN site. Or hire me at an additional fee.

Payment Options
-I am only accepting paypal at this time.

Looks pretty good, I do know that that bg is seriousally over used, not saying you shouldn't use it just saying maybe in the future stay away from highly used textures effects etc. Yes they can make your site look great, but they can just as easily do the very opposite. As for the site, I think it looks pretty good. I would finish up the content then post, it will give us a better idea of the intentions.

QUOTE(L. Kaiserblazer @ Jul 6 2009, 08:22 AM) *
Alright. Your page appears to be merely a login script. No matter. Your error is that you need to write the extension, such as .html, in the end of your address when you type it to the address bar. By default, the address bar will search within the source given, in your case ( arjunk.uuuq.com/pp ) until it finds an index page in THAT folder. If no index page is found, it will display an error.

Please try writing an extension after your link, such as arjunk.uuuq.com/pp.HTML

-Lucas

L. Kaiserblazer is correct and following the same line, web addresses are case sensitive, www.yoursite.com/Index.html and www.yoursite.com/index.html are two different sites.

If you continue to having issues viewing your pages, please post the specific links to your pages and we can see what else you are missing.

Kevin,

From what I have heard about OctopusInk, when they state 2 colors, they don't include different shades of that color. So grey and black are fairly the same thing to them. However, this is just something I heard on other sites. I would contact them and find out.

Emo,

Very nice design. I wouldn't mind purchasing one of those if it didn't have your name on it :-P. Maybe some cool text like Defiance or a catchy phrase.

Thanks for the response Sazzad that's what I thought they ment by 2 colors, this would work for some of my designs but most my stuff is like matt's only a few colors, but many shades of different colors, that's why i was curious where he is going to get this shirt printed, plus he doesnt live to far from me so if it is an actual shop I might look into it

thanks for the link cmain only bad thing about that is they only print 2 colors, which isnt really bad, but for instance something like matts design uses more than 2 colors (shades of orange and black) i might shoot them an email though and ask some questions

still curious where you're getting yours printed matt,

Thanks,
Kevin

HTML:
CODE

<div id="left">
<ul class="border">
<li><a href="#">Home</a></li>
<li><a href="#">News</a></li>
<li><a href="#">Factions</a></li>
<li><a href="#">Gallery</a></li>
<li><a href="#">Contact</a></li>
</ul>
</div>

CSS:
CODE

#left{
float:left;
height: 200px;
width: 195px;
background: #2c2c2c;
margin: 10px;
}

.border{
background: red;
width: 150px;
height: 140px;
border: 1px solid blue;
margin-left: 5px;
margin-top: 20px;
padding-top: 20px;
padding-left: 30px;
}

.border li{
list-style: none;
}

.border a{
text-decoration: none;
}

.border a:hover{
text-decoration: none;
color: yellow;

Hey,
We'll get you squared away here, looking over code.

Kevin

Edit: Seems to be a lot of errors both in the css and html, I'm just going to recode it from scratch, easier than fixing all the mistakes.\

Edit again, if you could zip up files and send them to me would be a lot more accurate.

Edit: sorry kept getting distracted, any ways I recoded the layout of your site, there are a lot of things I didn't add, content etc. Reasoning being I didn't have images to work with so figured I'd just give you a basic structure seeing you're doing this for a course and you can ask the questions you need to ask to get the rest done.

OK,
Well thanks for the replies, i do see what you where talking about and that is one of the reasons that i was looking for a personal site rather then a business, but anyway this is the first site that i made and only started to learn at the start of this week.

I have another site in photoshop that could be made into a website (if I have enough time) for a iPod app developer,

http://i663.photobucket.com/albums/uu356/b.../Home-dummy.jpg

is that what would sell better?

regards

Don't get discouraged, keep working on it, just design to design not to sell, you'll come up with better stuff.

As for the topic it will be opened unless an admin locks it.

you should sell it as a template rather than a developed website.......

No offense but I don't know of anyone that would pay money for this template, its not a horrible layouts, there's just nothing really to it, jazz it up a bit and it might be worth some money.

The colors are all over the place, pick a scheme and stick with it, you've got a php error at the top, the header looks ugly, if you made the layout it looks good just need to fix the header and the colors.

Hey all, I wrote that tutorial on how to create a simple drop down using HTML/CSS only, this tutorial is similar but is the javascript way to do it. I prefer this method because first off it works in more situations, and second off its much cleaner.

Live Preview, http://www.digennarodesigns.com/tutorials/javadrop/*Ignore the errors on the page I just uploaded this to show the drop at the top.

First we've going to create the HTML section of the JS,

Add this bit of code where you want your drop down,
CODE
<div id="menu">

<ul id="nav">
<li><a href="i#">Home</a></li>
<li><a href="#"
onmouseover="mopen('m1')"
onmouseout="mclosetime()">Music</a>
<div id="m1"
onmouseover="mcancelclosetime()"
onmouseout="mclosetime()">
<a href="#">Discography</a>
<a href="#">Lyrics</a>
<a href="#">Learn To Play</a>
</div>
</li>

<li><a href="#"
onmouseover="mopen('m2')"
onmouseout="mclosetime()">Community</a>
<div id="m2"
onmouseover="mcancelclosetime()"
onmouseout="mclosetime()">
<a href="#">Forum</a>
<a href="#">News</a>
<a href="#">Street Team</a>
<a href="#">Affiliates</a>
</div>
</li>

<li><a href="#">Contact Us</a></li>

</ul>
<div style="clear:both"></div>

</div>

This is the basic drop down, it's just a <ul> with some javascript added to make the hover's work.

Next to make this code actually work you need to create the javascript (*Note that I didn't write the Javascript for this dropdown it's just the best code I found).

Create a new document and save it as "dropdown.js" you can do this in Notepad or any html editor.
Paste this code into the document and save.
CODE
// Copyright 2006-2007 javascript-array.com

var timeout = 500;
var closetimer = 0;
var ddmenuitem = 0;

// open hidden layer
function mopen(id)
{
// cancel close timer
mcancelclosetime();

// close old layer
if(ddmenuitem) ddmenuitem.style.visibility = 'hidden';

// get new layer and show it
ddmenuitem = document.getElementById(id);
ddmenuitem.style.visibility = 'visible';

}
// close showed layer
function mclose()
{
if(ddmenuitem) ddmenuitem.style.visibility = 'hidden';
}

// go close timer
function mclosetime()
{
closetimer = window.setTimeout(mclose, timeout);
}

// cancel close timer
function mcancelclosetime()
{
if(closetimer)
{
window.clearTimeout(closetimer);
closetimer = null;
}
}

// close layer when click-out
document.onclick = mclose;

This is basically it, except one key element, the link to the JS

CODE
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">

<head>
<title>Hello!</title>
</style>
<script type="text/javascript" src="dropdown.js"></script>
</head>

Now this is a bit boring so add some CSS to it, here's an example, I'm not going to explain it though,
CODE
#menu {
background: #392115;
width: 270px;
height: 32px;
margin: 0 0;
position: relative;
}

#nav{
padding-top: 7px;
padding-left: -1px;
margin: 0 0;
z-index: 30;}

#nav li
{ margin: 0;
padding: 0;
list-style: none;
float: left;
font: bold 11px arial;}

#nav li a
{ display: block;
margin: 0 0 0 0;
padding: 0 0;
width: 90px;
height: 32px;
background: #392115;
color: #d4cebd;
text-align: center;
line-height: 29px;
text-decoration: none;}

#nav li a:hover
{ background: #5a0e09;}

#nav div
{ position: absolute;
visibility: hidden;
margin: 0;
padding: 0;
background: #d0bb8c;
border: 1px solid #392115;}

#nav div a
{ position: relative;
display: block;
margin: 0;
padding: 5px 10px;
width: auto;
white-space: nowrap;
text-align: left;
text-decoration: none;
background: #392115;
color: #330000;
font: 11px arial;}

#nav div a:hover
{ background: #766441;
color: #330000;}

Enjoy!

wat version of ie are you using?

although this tut is great and does work in most browsers your better off using some JS i use JS drops I just wrote this tut in response to a post a member wrote a while back, maybe if i get time ill write another one for a JS drop down although if you google it you'll find one easy.

before you make such accusations , on the proxified pages there are two adbrite ads up top. Adsense does not allow their ads to be displayed on proxified pages.

Come on now ..... i have re-sold many proxies to people especially on this forum.

I don't like accusing people and I'm accusing you but if this is truly legit you might want to try to provide more proof, from what I saw I was not convinced at all that what you were saying was true, I'm not saying you made it up just that with what you gave to look at I couldn't find proof.

Here's a script you can use for the login I've used it many times. http://demos.mootools.net/Fx.Slide. Very easy to mod.

Good luck,
Kevin DiGennaro

P.S, if you use that script let me know if you need help

Jetteh22 is of course right here. Unfortunately in the world of free lancing you really take what you can get or decide to hold on to it and wait. You might want to try to sell it on some different sites you might get an offer. If not you could always turn it into a simple website on web design and web hosting or something and try to earn some money off of it while you look for a buyer.

Good luck,
Kevin DiGennaro
