Awesome. I think that's the closest anyone has gotten to killing Bush. That journalist is my hero!

The shoe throwing is going to go down I think as the best thing to happen in 2008, I think anyways. At least it gave us something to laugh at going out of a bad year.

1) Bush has some moves, I love watching it
2) I have absolutely no trust in Barack Obama to lead the country from a military standpoint, and I have very little trust in his ability to handle the economy, however you don't see me wishing him ill. That's just horrible to cheer on attacks on an American president. Also, keep in mind, had that guy thrown a shoe at Saddam, do you think he would've even survived in the room once Saddam's guards got a hold of him?
3) Multiple attempts have been made on Bush's life - one that comes to mind is that a guy had a grenade with him near the President while he was giving a speech (outside of the United States), but the grenade never blew.

Also, while I'm here defending the current Commander-in-Chief before the next one gets in, do you guys have any idea, at all, how many plots have been uncovered and stopped before they ever took place? Remember the plot on Fort Dix? Did you guys know that at the same timeframe in which the attack on Fort Dix was going to take place, Civil Air Patrol cadets from all over the Northeast Region (9 states) - thousands of them, a number as young as 12, participated in an air show at McGuire Air Force Base? That plot was uncovered about two weeks before the event.

Take a look how close the two are: http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&q=fo...=1&ct=image (close out the blip). McGuire AFB is just off of Fort Dix. The air show was one of the biggest events within the entire Northeast Region, and there's no doubt in my mind that for that timeframe, Fort Dix was not the main target.

Plots to blow up airliners, and a plot to blow up an airport were two other ones that the press got wind of - and I'm sure had anyone in the press really known anything about CAP (other than a news special CNN did in 2001), what was going on at McGuire would've been the big news.

Now, am I in full support of President Bush? No. I'm able to recognize that some privacy rights were threatened because of security, but you look to any time we have ever been at war in our history, and you'll see the same thing happens every time. Do I agree with that? No - we're fighting for that right after all - but speaking bluntly, it's nothing new. I also recognize other wrong decisions that he has made - but every president has, and forever will into the future. That's just the way things go.

Back to the shoe throwing, I found it funny because Bush reacted so cool and quickly, before anyone else caught on, and long before his security detail got in - not because it was an "attack" on the President of the United States.

Really bad, all that was happened in Iraq, so many innocent people died in that war. And Still Mr. Bush was saying that the war in Iraq was not over and more work remained to be done.

Hope the new President Mr. Barack Obama leads the country well and brings peace in the world.

I hope Barack Obama the very best, and i think he will do a good job. But, i also believe that Bush was right in defending our country from the terrorists that attacked us on 9/11. We have actually succeeded in destroying al qaeda to less then 1000 members. Although i think he might have gone too far in invading iraq for so long, but the iraqi's are democratic, and can now make decisions for themselves. They have already set a date for full US withdrawl by about 2011.

buts thats just my $.02

To be honest, I still believe that the 9/11 attack was a setup by the government. Think about it, if the government said it was this kind of jet that hit the pentagon, why would they find a engine that is not even anywhere close to being compatible? Does that make sense? I think the U.S. saw a future with a bad view and decided to take some actions to prevent it.

This whole Iraq BS is fault from both ends. The US has been disrespecting Muslim holy lands for a while now in several ways (building, looking for oil and other resources, etc.). Yes, there was an overreaction from the terrorists (not surprised). The simple fact of it though is that there is no excuse for the war lasting this long. The target was in an isolated area that, with the correct military organization, could have been taken care of MUCH quicker.

I'm with Eagle 1 on this whole topic. I don't care how ill you think of the current President (Whether it be Bush or Obama or whomever) you shouldn't make light of attacks on his life. People attacking the President are idiots. The President is the face of our country. Sure he's made stupid decisions, he can't speak in public, but you can't say that EVERY decision he's made was bad. And attacking him is just like attacking the US.

I'm honestly impressed with how quickly he moved out of the way, when the Prime Minister didn't even flinch the first time.

Hey Eagle 1 are you in the Air Force?
