I needed an header image for my netlog, and after browsign some text effect tutorials and such I finally got some inspiration and put this one together.

that's pretty good man! choice of color is awesome, but slick logo versus dim background? not too sure about that

Looks nice. The gradient seems to get a bit too white around the letters DES though. Kind of kills the glassy appearance.

Kinda an old post but i havent been around for a while, I like wat you have but I dont think its a great logo. Text is kinda cool, but it cant really "stand alone" it needs a bg like you have it displayed on etc. It doesnt look bad, it just doesnt Wow me, maybe try some sort of image logo next to it or something.

I agree. I really like the background, and the logo itself.
But I also agree about the white being too bright. EDIT: Wow, I just noticed how pointless this post was. Ignorable, if you please. |

The background is a wallpaper pattern I've found browsing stock images, sliced it to a small piece and made it into a pattern. Not a perfect one, but useable, I'll look again to find it and link it.
