I have two ideas for websites. And I would like to run them past people first. I would usually never do this, at risk of my ideas being stolen. However, I actually have proof that these ideas ARE mine and nobody elses. Therefore I do not suggest anyone take them, not that it matters, they're mediocre ideas at best.

My first idea is a site pretty much for the gamers. Bug-abusing games, lol. I plan to (and I already do) find as many glitches as possible, in any game, and list them on my site. For everyone to see. I will also offer such things like screens of glitches and video tutorials on how to perform them (unless they're particularly dangerous to the users system/game).

The second idea is a website (which I've tried starting, but am waiting to get hosting/domain before really trying it, that and I need ways to advertise it) which is basically a Web & Graphics Design Community. It's not like Zymic in the sence that I offer resources. I offer LINKS to resources (as in links to the, I don't hotlink stuff off them). I also offer links to downloads/trial downloads. The main point of it, is the Community side of it. It's primarily a place where Designers and Developers can get together and share their experiences, techniques, showcase their work, etc etc.

Any thoughts or suggestions? Or should I just drop the ideas totally and forget about them (which I suspect will be most peoples thoughts).

The first one is a brilliant idea. I've found heaps of glitches in games as well, but never get around to sharing. And putting once that a potentially dangerous to the users system/game would also be a good one. Prevent people from doing it and recking there properties.

The second idea is also a great idea. Linking out to resource sites... Brilliant. If you can, you could also ask permissions to display things on the site as well. It would certainly bring a LOT of traffic.

I recommend you go and make both of them. Definitely don't drop them.

And send me a message when there made, I'm going to them ASAP.

Okay, now that's a first. Someone likes my ideas. LOL. Last time I tried advertising someone just had to beat me down saying it's been done lol. Anyways, when I get a domain and the (second idea) site gets going I'll most likely allow people to sell/buy resources off the forum (the site will be a "placeholder" so I won't actually sell stuff lol, members will). I will also, probably contact companies like Adobe and ask for permission to use such things as Trial Versions of their software or if I can link to them.

As for the first one, that's a more recent one. I have some glitches, but not many at the moment. It has to be one of my better ideas (my ideas consist mostly of "user-submitted sites," sites where users have to submit the content for it to be of any use lol).

The only real problem I face is that I can't get a credit card nor a debit card YET (will be getting a debit card soon, if time permits). I'm only 16, and what I want to get is Google AdWords and some domain names. I also need some cash as I know of sites which offer services to make templates (excluding this one) for free, but by paying I can remove the copyright so potentially, it'd be my "own" template for my site.

Ahh. Makes sense. What about using your parents one?

That's what I did, and then I just paid them back. Easy as that. Although I guess really you have to have the money to start with anyway. If you need a template, give me a holla and the sort of thing your looking for, I may be able to help you out.

They are both really good ideas. The second idea can be expanded alot in the way you can possibly make your own resource site, and still have the links but I like them both. As to the first one, it's a good idea but I can really see it being an over success. Glitches can be found anywhere on the web...If you put work and make it something unique then i'm sure it could be good smile.gif

I think your best best on this one would be the bug website. More of a niche market. So many web design community's like you explained, its mind blowing.

Design the site well, with a fast back-end, and keep it simple. How much experience do you have doing this?

<rant>
Please, not a glitch site, I'm sick to death of playing online games only to be shot or killed by someone sitting in a wall clipping where they are technically invincible, at least with glitches not being so widely available less people know about them so there are less idiots to ruin the game.
</rant>

As the idea goes It has a lot of potential, a centralised database would definitely attract a steady stream of visitors. Designed right, written well and marketed to the right medium, you could have a nice little earner. You might have a problem, if you publicise the glitches the developers may start patching them though.

Second idea sounds very much like a link portal though, digg serves pretty well for that.

Bread I disagree.. I'd go with the first just because there are so many of the second.. and you'd have to be really good and unique to beat them.

The first idea would be cool if you had a lot of quality videos and tutorials for the glitches. It seems like it would take up a lot of time finding them though.

I've already planned the glitch site out. Bread, it wouldn't be a case of people abusing bugs to annoy other players. As most glitches will be for either single-player games and most glitches in SP don't necessary run over to the multi-player version of the game, if one exists.

MMOs will NOT be included, for the simple reason that I will accept people submitting in their own glitches. And I don't endorse anyone risk an account on a Massive Multiplayer Online game (such as World of Warcraft, ROSE, RuneScape, etc) as it's just too risky. I can't be held liable if someone DOES try this and lose their account over it but I don't really see a point in taking the risk, when I won't be risking my own accounts.

The main games I'll be abusing will be probably online and handheld games. The other categories are PC and console games. However, the latter are harder to abuse and believe me, there is a TON of glitches for handheld games. Especially games for GBC and marked "The Legend of Zelda" lol.

The only real problem I have with making it, is a template. I don't make templates. Let me repeat that. I don't make templates. I am no good, at making website layouts. I have made some using a tutorial, fine, but they're not very unique, are they? And even when I do, I am no good at slicing or coding them (slicing them "properly" anyway). The site itself will be fairly simple, I like simple. Simple doesn't have to mean it looks like crap. Simple, to me, means it's easier to manage and more user-friendly.

Hello people laugh.gif , iv been thinking of a site idea which i dont think it has been done, correct me if im rong dry.gif but im thinking of making a website like BEBO, MYSPACE or FACEBOOK but 100% flash, it would hopefully be more interactive and simple to use.

Any feedback or ideas based on this would be greatfull, thanks NAT wink.gif

Yah but the reason why myspace is so successful is because everyone can use it.. now on the other hand.. not everyone that has a computer has much knowledge of it .. most people know how to check their email and go on aim.. so many won't have flash.. or won't know how to update it and such.. i don't see much of a future for that.

Wouldnt the second one just be a web design directory then?

This could be great if a big website like Zymic will use you and they help you. As a lot of there users will be website owners. Then after about a year you could offer exclusive links etc for small amounts of money to websites.

And your directory could very well become a nice little wager.

Yes, you could consider it a Web and Graphic Design Directory. But, the site was originally an add-on to the forum. I was never going to make it, just a Web & Graphic Design Community. But I thought, why not lol.

Also NATDAMASTER, a Flash version of MySpace or Bebo, etc would be pretty unique but as MrCracker said, those who don't know what the hell Flash is would be out of luck.

However, to argue that point - people who only know how to use email or AIM really wouldn't know what the site is, would they? So they couldn't complain about it.

I actually love the first idea, maybe have videos on your site as well to show gamers the bugs you find in games. Of course with a high quality DVIX webplayer. wink.gif

The second one is like many have said DONE BEFORE, but if you find some really good sites that affiliate, it could be a little profit site.

BUT stick to the first idea, it could be big!

Okay, thanks. Time to get my priorities sorted:

1. Glitch site
2. Web/Graphic Design Community

And now, I'm going to release the names (first comes name, then comes slogan):

1. Glitches Exposed - Glitches, Stripped and Exposed!
2. Sycho Designs - No Slogan

Any suggestions on the names? The Sycho Designs one WAS originally called Psycho Designs (due to my main alias being ~Psychotic~) but I changed as no free domains. And Sycho looks better LOL.

The Glitches Exposed one I thought of myself (Sycho Designs was actually a mates idea, the name that is). It originally was Glitches eXposed! but I like this new one better.

Any suggestions or comments?

Glitches Exposed? Sounds like some reality TV show where they show ppl cheating on each other, etc. tongue.gif

I would say Glitch Network, a simpler, yet easy to remember name. It also doesn't sound as controversial as Glitches exposed. Another thing: Sycho Designs? Sounds like some kind of mental person doing designs. Probably Psionic Designs or something protossy would be better. You do play Starcraft, right? I mean, it's the best game in the world.

I like the first idea best. I too have found LOTS of glitches, but didn't ever get around to telling anyone about them. (you know how that goes... rolleyes.gif ) So I think this is superb.

Keep it up!

I've also had a similar idea, as you can see on www.cspace.zxq.net which I'm currently working on creating a Links Database with different categorys.

I dont do much gaming as I used to so I can't comment on the first idea.
