I know Ive been asking for a lot of help lately, ive been working on a bunch of things and have been trying to learn the different coding languages better. I want to create a PHPBB Forum for my band website, I found a site with the source code http://gscripts.net/free-php-scripts/Forum...BB/details.html

I didnt find any instructions on how to put this together though, and honestly ive never created a forum any help would be awesome.

Thanks
Kevin

Yes. phpBB, SMF, IPB and vBulletin are all very easy to install. Most of them are automatically done for you.
Do you have any other questions about this?

Many of the software creators (and sometimes distributers) have theme sections.
Have a look around the offical forum software website to find it. Or you could go a third party website and have a look there.
If you are still stuck, PM me and I will get you a list of themes and websites for you. I can also teach you to create them if you need.

You can easily create your own as well... If you go to the directory themes or styles (In phpBB) they would either be in extension *.tpl or *.html. Just open them in Notepad and you see HTML that you can edit.

i do not think any websites have phpbb3 themes up already since if you followed since the begining of the release of phpbb3 the v1 just came out recently so all the version of the templates are running RC7.

If you go to the phpbb website under phpbb3 section and look for the "style forum" where all the styling problem are solved you will find templates there. many many people just put there template ove rhtere smile.gif

As I said, hit up the official forums and see what they have to offer.

ftp is made to upload your files into the server where you have your site hosted, you will need FTP to upload the new template you downloaded.

you have to upload it to the style folder and than go to your ACP under style and install the style and set it as the "main style of your forums".

FTP is not the only way you can also create styles via the ACP but it 's much harder.

Themes/Styles/Skins (phpBB call them "Styles") so you need to upload it to the /styles folder and then you can activate them via your phpBB Admin Control Panel.
