A Favicon is an icon that displays in the URL bar of users. An example is Zymic's favicon.

Notice the zymic logo to the left of the URL.

Inserting this image is actually quite easy, Lets Get Started!

First open up your photo editing program.
-Create a new Document 16px by 16px and create an image. A lot of people use their logo or a modified logo like zymic uses. Here's my logo scaled down to 16x16.

-Save your file as favicon.ico

Then open up your FTP client. I use Filezilla which is free, click here to download.
-Upload your favicon.ico to your main directory.

Next open up your favorite HTML editor, in this case I am going to use Komodo it can be downloaded free here.
-Go into the header of your website and add the following code.
CODE
<Link rel="icon" type="image/ico" Href="http://www.yoururl.com/favicon.ico">

Now upload your file and type the URL in the your browser and watch your Favicon appear!

Good luck to all!

I've followed the tutorial and set favicon for my site. Certainly we can say that this tutorial is very effective and helpful. The code which has been provided to use in the head section is the code for which I was looking for. We expect tutorial like this in future too.
