Hey I'm getting back into 3d and just wanted your opinion on this simple scene. I know there are a couple errors in my modeling, but ignore that for now. Just a general opinion. Is it good?
![]() Haha after not looking at it for a minute, I realize how HUGE those glass jars are compared to the table. And i'll work on some more stuff in a bit. |

Damn those glass jars are trippin!! I really don't have an eye for 3d models so I can't catch any flaws...
How long has it been? And how much previous experience did you have? I always wanted to get into 3d design but right now I'm trying to focus on ps and coding (soon). =D Hopefully, I can get into 3D once I've "mastered" this shit. Again, very nice! Good luck with anything in the future. Luke |

The glasses look pretty real. Well Done. Just need to work more on the scene and you're good to go.

Looking good
Being away from 3D for some time, I guess you've either forgotten to add lights [with the scene being rendered with default lighting] or to turn on the shadows. So forget everything else -- simply turning shadow-casting on for your light[s] will make the whole scene look way more real. And if you want an additional tip, then you could make the tiled floor a bit reflective. |

Hah I'll redo the whole scene, but yea I didn't bother with lights I was being lazy since it was late. Thanks for the positive feedback...
And it's been about 4 years. the last time I did anything in 3d was my junior year of high school, and I had about 3 years of experience prior to that, but I never was really "that" good. |

Good job, but I think you should turn off default lighting, add some lights and GI to that scene.

Played around with it some more, not very long. I'm still not happy with it, well I'm not happy with the glass it does some weird reflections or something around the brims. I think tomorrow since I have nothing to do i'll work on making a new table.
![]() I'm not happy with the shadows, I got a soft shadow for the glass items, but the shadow for the table is SOLID and CRISP black. I was hoping for a more blurry shadow there. I need to play around some more, it's slowly coming back to me. |

Keep up the fun work it's a lot fun when you have the time to create and I like it nice job.
This project I did a while ago in Vue 6. I created the Castle model from scratch in Vue 6 which isn't difficult to do btw. I don't really do much on it and mostly coding with my uncles company but I do enjoy at times to create as a hobby and at times I do get a chance to work with Vue and 3DMAX and Mayer at work. Anyway this is what I did a while ago and I have many others but I will show it another time. Castle - I call it Castle of Knights of Nee. hehehehe

Heh thanks, I haven't even touched my scene since I posted the second picture. I should work on it some more, and see how much better I can make it. Seems like it's been more than a month since I made that.

So overlook everything additional -- easily rotating shadow-casting on for your light[s] will make the entire view gaze way more real. And if you desire an added tilt, then you could make the tiled floor a bit reflective.
