A few days ago I designed a template called Engraved. Today, after making many stupid mistakes, I finally finished coding the layout. Too around 3-5 hours for it. I have one or two margin bugs to play around with in IE6 but the layout should work really well in all other browsers (except IE 5.5 and earlier).

I am seeking for some feedback from you all.

Thanks!

I really like it. Looks great in FF3... I have a couple things that bug me though.

in the posted by line, I think the link color might need to be a slight shade darker.. might just be my monitor though.

In the members login area "get an account" and "forgot password" seem to be a bit too close to each other, I think dropping the "forgot password" link down a few pixels would help, but then it seems like you'd have to make the background images drop a few pixels down too to give it a uniform look.

Only other thing that I don't like is it's very strictly a blog, but thats just personal taste, I don't like blogs. Obviously you were going for that look, so it's done it's job.

Other than those two things I think you did an awesome job. I really like the colors too.

In what browser? Got a screenshot? Because i'm pretty sure submit is supposed to be half inside half outside the containing box, and forgot password is supposed to be completely outside of the member box (thats why the text is a different color than "get an account" link

Trippin7464 - I use an x-bright and a regular resolution screen and it seems to look fine here. It is supposed to be the same color as the template psd. The "get an account" and "forgot password" are purpose put close to each other. But if you prefer I will play around with the padding a little. I mainly created this layout for the Shud Project and we needed a blog based layout. I will soon have to code it for Wordpress but that will come later. For you, I will design a professional Business based layout. OK?

Narzy - Thanks mate!

Flyboy - Thanks buddy! It took darn long time to figure out stupid little mistakes that made me feel like switching to tables (lol). What browser are you using? Can you show me a screen shot of it?

Red-Spiral - You can view more of my work when my new website is up and running. I'm currently moving the page's content from the old server to the new one. Hopefully it will help with the loading and downloading time. The old account uses over 35gigs of bandwidth and the new one already uses a little over 10gigs. It's really hard to survive when no-one donates for the free goodies. Oh an I also caught a lot of people removing the copyright off of the free templates they download from me. How sad sad.gif !

This is a nice site too, however it might just be me, but when i hover over home the pointed hand goes away, and i get a different cursor. I'm not sure i understand the spider emblem on the sides of the dates, does it go with the site theme, or did i miss it?

Much too cluttered. I don't like the color scheme or your usage of icons, or the general layout.

Magnus it was purposely designed that way. It is to be used for blogs and blogs need to tell a story. This design is for those who want to show they are busy bloggers.

Sirric >> The spiders are just a random thing I put in there to look cool. Its simple to edit so users can replace with anything they want.

To fix your IE bug you will need to use '_' it's the only thing i know to fix it. Be careful with an un-understanding with IE6 & 7 tho...

Well I have it set in the right position, its just that there is a container that is pushing something off. Gotta figure out what that is.
