Adding custom domain

You will be presented with this after logging into your Zymic account. Now click 'Control Panel Home' on the left side of the page.

Adjacent to your sub-domain will be a button named 'Login'; click it.

You will now need to enter your password for your web hosting account, type it, then hit return or click 'login'

You should now be looking at your Zymic Hosting Control Panel (or ZHCP); click the option highlighted in blue

Final stage now... enter your domain in the field named 'Domain name', select 'Extra domain' for the new domain, then click add.

Job done! Your domain (providing it has fully propagated) should now be operational.

Ok Brandon's tutorial is a little incomplete. One main fact that he missed out on was that you will need to have the domain forwarded to zymics nameserver or ips (not sure which one). I'll ask Jack about this shortly on IRC.

The doman name that you add is simply a front for your zymic (e.g vndv) account - upload as normal to your vndv account.

[I tried this and it said my domain was disallowed. Why am I getting this error? I'm using a .co.cc domain and it's pointed to ns1.vndv.com and ns2.vndv.com. Do I need to wait for .co.cc to set up the nameservers before I can register the domain name here?

I think it struggles with .co.cc domains. I know some people have managed to get them, but I'm not entirely sure how.

If you come on the IRC, we can probably help you out.

This domain is disallowed. This domain cannot be added, since it is currently resolving to an IP address. Please try adding this domain again when it is no longer registered.

No matter what domain name I add from the list I own I get this error.

You need to set the dns first - only when it's correctly pointed will it let you add it.

how long does it take (after the domain is published) for me to stop being redirected to the 404 error page?
I have uploaded WP to my domain, but for some reason it doesn't seem to work on my domain only under the subdomain (no I have not installed it yet, but the install will only start running on the subdomain)
