Hello,
We're getting sick of people uploading the vBulletin forum software. It has not been allowed for many months now and it clearly says next to the signup form do NOT upload vBulletin. Why? Because 90% of people upload pirated NULLED versions causing us to get into trouble. Also, vBulletin is bloated and has a stupid amount of files, which when uploaded to FTP take forever to complete thus slowing down the service for everyone else. Don't waste your time uploading vBulletin as your account gets deleted. |

Hello, Sorry no. Vbulletin is too bloated and uses up too many resources. Well, at least you are nice enough to explain why (unlike other hosting sites) alas, it of course means the 10% of us that did invest money in the vbulletin software legally are pretty much SOL and out a few hundred dollars since it seems no matter where i go to host my forums, I get screwed over. Could you recommend any free forum software that, say, doesn't bite? The few I have tried really bite hard. This post has been edited by zpcs: Dec 20 2012, 04:33 AM

There is a nice comparison, not all of them on the list are free, but it does say whether it's free or costs money. Seems to me the most popular ones are SMF, phpBB and MyBB. |

If I may add (and if not allowed, please delete this post), I strongly recommend Zetaboards.
It requires no installation, is very easily managed, very secure, has great support. Also, for options that don't come automatically with the service, there are codes that you can put on and themes (more here) for different looks. The older version is Invisionfree (based off of IPB), but Zetaboards has many more options. |

vBulletin bites balls.
Use MyBB. It's a Clone of vBulletin (With a little changes(Like no HTML on User Titles) And it's completely free! http://www.mybboard.net/ This post has been edited by zpcs: Dec 20 2012, 04:34 AM
