Quite an interesting thing going on in the US right now. As most of the country is getting snow and in ice storms, Florida seems to be having a heat wave of sorts.
Based on today's temperatures... The north part of the US is ranging around -23 to 23 degrees Fahrenheit (Oregon to Maine) the middle part of the US is ranging around 2 to 40 degrees Fahrenheit (Arizona to Virginia) the south part of the US is ranging around 50 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit (Texas to South Carolina) and central Florida (where I live) is currently around 84 degrees Fahrenheit Obviously, there is something weird going on, seeing how it is in the mid 80s halfway through winter... Melbourne, Australia is expecting a high of 86 degrees Fahrenheit today...in the middle of Summer. Never should any part of the US and Australia be having the same temperature considering season differences. After thinking about that, I realized that the birds never actually migrated down to Florida this year. I sort of want to know where they went. Birds hate freezing cold and hot weather, so they must be somewhere around the border of Florida and Georgia to get the comfortable weather. I've always sort of believed in the idea of global warming, but I think this is a pretty good example for the skeptics. |

Ok, but lets look at the statistics over the past 50 years. In about 1950, Carbon Emissions increased substantially, at the same time, the overall Global Temperature increased just as substantially. As the Global Temperatures increases, the ocean temperatures increases. When the ocean temperatures increase, the polar ice caps begin to melt. When the polar ice caps melt, it dumps a significant amount of Freshwater into the Saltwater oceans. Now, the currents throughout the oceans rely on a particular balance of Freshwater and Saltwater. When more Freshwater gets dumped into the ocean, the Ocean Currents begin to break down. Additionally to the Ocean Currents changing, the overall water levels increase.
Now you say the Earth works in cycles, which are not influenced by Humanity. The different scares over time are still relevant. Those fears have not gone away. The next Ice Age, the Nuclear Winter, and whatever else there was, are all theories of what might happen as a result of Global Warming taking effect. We just now have a name for it. As for the melting caps on Mars. That is because even Mars has seasons. The chemical make ups between Earth and Mars are too different to compare the results of the seasons. No, this is not a human thing. This is a natural occurrence on MARS, but Mars and Earth are not the same planets. What happens on one planet doesnt mean the same will happen on another. |

"The statistics"... whose? The numbers gathered by pop-scientists who plot 2 or 3 lines on one small part of an oscillating curve that covers a few years, or the ones gathered by the real scientists who step back and look at the WHOLE picture, who gather ALL the available facts, not just the ones that conform to political correctness and therefore bring in juicy monetary grants and prestige from those who want excuses for seizing political power. Man does influence climate locally. For instance, in places where large tracts of land are held in common, as in socialism or nomadic cultures, overgrazing takes place, because no one is responsible for good stewardship. Overgrazing causes warm updrafts that tend to drive rain clouds away, leading to desert formation. Land held privately tends to be better-cared-for, as people tend to take care of what they own. But the rain clouds don't just cease to exist. They move to where atmospheric conditions allow the rain to fall. If one part of the world gets hot and dry, another part will get cold and wet, to compensate. Overall, the mean global temperature is more affected by the temperature of the sun (which fluctuates in cycles, and cycles-within-cycles) than by activities of man. During the 80's and 90's, the sun was in a warming cycle. Now it has entered a cooling cycle. As for Mars, yes, I know about the seasons. Over the solar warming period, its polar ice cap was shrinking OVERALL, during a span of many Martian years.. The sun, unlike Man, affects ALL the planets. including Mars. As for the polar ice caps on earth, it seems that they are rebounding again. Since water expands as it freezes, ice floats. Some alarmists have worried that melting the ice cap will raise the level of the oceans. Try putting an ice cube in a glass of water, and mark the level of the water. Wait for the ice cube to melt. How much does the water level rise? Answer: ZERO. because the volume of the water shrinks as the ice melts. I repeat: global warming is a hoax designed to panic people into giving up their freedom. |
