Hey,
I'm making some software which anonymously encrypts your entire internet connection without any advanced configuration. One of the benefits of this program is the ability to play online games, which means you can effectively virtually reside in a different country whilst playing the game with a different IP address. I'm doing various demo videos and I need to demonstrate that playing online games work. The hard point is how? I need an online game which somewhere outputs your country and IP address on a graphical display, whether this be in game play or in an options menu; I can then demonstrate that the users IP and country has been changed due to my software. So does anyone know any popular games which output your country or IP? I would prefer popular well known games. Thanks |

Pretty much any games that allows private servers do show your country.
I play RtCW (kind of old) but newer version came up... the game it self will not show your country or your IP but with a team www.plan-z-mod.com we created a mod which gives you admin commands... i don't remember which one it is (i have it binded on one of my keys) it shows you the IP the name and what ever info you want... on the player. Meaning, i don't think any games show any IP or country. Just the mods do... so find a popular game, ETQW, COD (new) CRYSIS or games like that... you will definitely find tons of MODS in them which allow you to see IP's and Countries. |

Either Call of Duty 4 or UT99 (Unreal Tournament, from 1999) do. I can't remember which. But I remember seeing country flags. I'll be gone most of today, but when I get back I'll check COD4 and see if it does, and if it does I'll try to see if it displays the IP address.

MrTouz, thanks but this seems a bit complicated and wouldn't work as a demo if I have to jump through hoops.
Trippin, ok thanks |

I guess I was mistaken, COD4 definitely doesn't. And I don't have UT99 anymore. Sorry.

I think in UT you have a country flag. I don't remember which one was it but...
And yes... it will be complicated to do.. since you will have to create a mod and than make it do what ever you want it to do. If you want a game that shows countries i think Cossacks does. Dunno if its famous but i use to play it a lot ! |

Counter Strike Source.
It shows your location in your chat screen. (Belgium -> BE) and as server owner I think it should be possible to see IP, since you can IP ban. Besides, its rather cheap to buy, and easy to set up a server |
