Here's another one, this one isn't coded yet, probably will code it later in the week (tis the holiday season). Let me know what you think.

Edit: I lowered the opacity on the search drop shadow, it looks fuzzy in the image above, better now though.

I love the header, the menu, and then the header image - Those all look nice.

Everything below needs to be worked on a little bit (the content section).
Either change the background color of the main page so taht it doesn't end in white but a lighter blue (ALMOST white) so you can differentiate the background of content from main background.

Maybe it's just the font, but I don't like the content.

The content images for each section look bad too, they should be blue/orange like the headers.

And they should be even'd up a bit, not heading down like a staircase.

Not trying to be harsh, you should know I'm not usually, just telling you what I see wrong w/ it.

It's a very good start, and like I said I love the upper half, but the content section (which seems to be hardest for most people) needs some work.

Thanks for the reply Jetteh, I agree with the what you said about the content section, I'm not really happy with it either, I know part of it is the font, its Veranda, I used it because that's the text in the "logo". I don't like mixing fonts, but maybe ill try and see what happens, adding orange to those little content icons is a good idea, I'm also thinking about making them smaller, maybe ill do that and see what kinda inspiration it brings for the content section, as of now I'm planning on revamping that whole part.

Thanks,
Kevin

Alright I played around with the little icons and came up with this so far, the login would be a hover and the other little icons would have drop downs too similar to the login

The orange seems a bit much but i like the feel, the other content will balance it out hopefully

Much better!
I can see the improvement already.

It may just be because it's an image instead of an actual coded site the but the font looks weird for the "who are we, what do we do, about us, log in, contact" parts just above where the content would go.

I really like the drop down box idea for each button - and the orange fits in perfectly.

I might suggest making the text white over the orange though, since it's a darker orange. That goes for the drop down box and the search box in the upper left. It would go good in contrast to the 'hover' part of the links (orange over white on links, white over orange on boxes).

It's coming along nicely biggrin.gif

Thanks again for the reply Jetteh, I'm not sure what I did to my text in PS but I did something, and now the text looks like shit lol, I'll look into it more later, but you're right it looks off. As for the white, I actually tried that, it just blended in to much with the orange, I might try white with a suttle black outer glow, to add some contrast. Any ways here's the most recent, technically its done, but I'm still planning on making changes to the content, although I might start coding it.

Thanks,
Kevin

The finished version looks about twice as good as the first one.

Except the text.. It's not going to be BOLD on the site right?
Try changing the text for the content to a simple Arial 10-11pt non-bolded.
That would look okay.
Maybe verdana?

Umm.. I know that there are two ways you can make a text bold.. In the characters box you can choose the font, and then the style. There is "bold" in the styles.. That would make it bold.

Additionally, there is a "bold" button at the bottom of the characters box. If one of those (the style dropdown box or the button) is pressed, it will be bold. If BOTH are pressed and chosen it will be like.. superbold.. Check those?
