When person does an unforgivable crime, we want him/her to die so that other people will not do the same but if we do it we are no different because we ourselves become murderer and I don't think that it is a right judgement. I want the person suffer and regret everything he has done and swear to never do it again.

However, I do believe in a second chance. Perhaps after they get busted 2 times and still keep doing what they aren't supposed to be doing, put them in the chair and plug it in. (I think Lethal Injection is not harsh enough)

I think death penalty should be enforced on people who committed crimes that are beyond inhumane, like mass massacre, rape (specially those pedo) and drug dealing.

I am strongly against death penalty first of all because responding to killing with another killing can hardly do any good. And yeah, I do believe than to live in jail is worse than anything. Though I've been thinking about mutilation as a penalty just as it used to be in ancient times. smile.gif

Proponents of the death penalty say it is an important tool for preserving law and order, deters crime, and costs less than life imprisonment. They argue that retribution or "an eye for an eye" honors the victim, helps console grieving families, and ensures that the perpetrators of heinous crimes never have an opportunity to cause future tragedy. Opponents of capital punishment say it has no deterrent effect on crime, wrongly gives governments the power to take human life, and perpetuates social injustices by disproportionately targeting people of color (racist) and people who cannot afford good attorneys (classist). They say lifetime jail sentences are a more severe and less expensive punishment than death.
