Editing Note: This is a fundamental tutorial that offers no shortcuts in creation of a 3-State Rollover Button and is designed to walk the novice through the point-by-point procedure, additionally it is a great refresher for those who who have not created one in awhile.

(7:12 AM CDT 24JUNE09) Completely Updated: The Illustrated Tutorial for Adobe PhotoShop's ImageReady 3.0 & 7.0
CREATING A 3-STATE ROLLOVER BUTTON IN IMAGEREADY 3.0 or 7.0

Hi everyone,
Recently, I had the opportunity to give up an idea of using a rollover in the stead of slices and it pricked me that I had actually written a rollover tutorial for ImageReady 3.0 (from PhotoShop 6.0) a few years back (for a relative that had no idea - completely computer illiterate - but wanted to play in PhotoShop/ImageReady after seeing some of my handywork).
A couple of days ago I submitted the tutorial here on Zymic and I have to wait for the Moderator(s) to review it (I reviewed it myself all this last 10 hours and respectively corrected a few nuances with it when I went through it point-by-point) which is a good thing - I mean after all what is the sense of putting everything and anything out there that may contain flaws - it creates havoc for everyone utilizing it (and I've only mine own eyes right now).
Well, I trust the good Moderators here at Zymic will not allow that tutorial to hit the board (if it does I'll request that it is removed as it is flawed and ask that this one be considered).
Currently this proofed, offered for tutoring; 3-State Rollover Button, is specifically written for ImageReady 3.0 (PhotoShop 6.0) but to one who is intuitive this can be utilized in ImageReady 7.0 (PhotoShop 7.0). I will tonight (CDT) run through the tutorial on a point-by-point basis for ImageReady 7.0 and update the tutorial to reflect the ImageReady 7.0 points respectively.

In the event you missed the first link to this tutorial here it is again: 3-State Rollover Button

The page does not appear in my web's Table of Contents currently so this is the only link, anywhere, to the proofed creative illustrated tutorial!

Although there is always more than one way to skin a critter - being instructed fundamentally for the first (couple of) time(s) is always the best so you get the breadth of the creation. I try not to teach short bad habits - I'll leave that corruption to others.
Thanks for your consideration.

I have reviewed it and thought it is a bit outdated. I will move that topic to the recycle bin for now and if you should need it back to re-review or modify, just shoot me a message.

IamShipon1988, I'm not sure I agree with your decision for not accepting it, it is very detailed and zpcs looks like he's gone to some effort to produce it.

Even if it's not current, it doesn't mean people can't learn from it and apply it to the current version, who knows people might be running the same version and this would be a godsend.

Thank you for taking the time to produce this zpcs.

Yes IamShipon1988, it is a bit dated - I recollect that, the submitted in the Tutorials Forum, was written about 2-1/2 years ago and is the one in the Moderators possession currently can be completely removed without any quams from me ("I trust the good Moderators here at Zymic will not allow that tutorial to hit the board (if it does I'll request that it is removed as it is flawed and ask that this one be considered")).
I mentioned in this original post for this "I'll be going through a second time this night for ImageReady 7.0 on a point-by-point basis to check the necessaries for respective Point(s) that will be added to the ImageReady 3.0 3-State Rollover Button residing (no internal web URL Link(s)) in zpcs so that it reflects on both versions of ImageReady.
Not to be inconsiderate, sarcastic or anything thing like that IamShipon1988, but . . . Honestly . . . If not having the past where does the future come from? - Where would you be - where would anyone of us be, truthfully? (There were book burning(s), suppression(s) and the like in the Thirty's and Forty's in Nazi Germany, China revels in the uneducated masses, Iran won't even let us see - but yet the knowledge for understanding is persistantly seen)

I believe there is an absolutely tremendous amount of power in your first quoted words Bread, Thank You for the wisdom. I'm modest; I once was told (eons ago) that I have too much time on my hands - "the truth couldn't be farther away than that statement" - I replied and additionally stated "I have just the right amount of time and I spread it around so that others may be able to enjoin it as well" (that pissed the judge off to no-end, I got a year and spent it in the Law Library - that left him powerless the second time around, but I still make mistakes and I learn from them).
___________

I don't believe I (or anyone) should have to defend it (knowledge): It is a seedling and I know that this Zymic arena is very rich and fertile and where one might totally pass it by another may considerably be absorbed by its presence. I have some time skimming, reading and perusing in all the Zymic Forum(s) Topic(s) since my acceptance here (which is relatively short) and have noticed an overwhelming plethora of seedlings to primes everywhere - so much, that I can not take in all at once, so, I take my constitutions here daily and I'm learning pretty much where to look for answer(s) and solution(s) for my own edification as well as others (I just haven't put it altogether yet, give me time).
I'm not an accomplished Web Designer, but rather, I am a published Web Master and I know if it wasn't for documentation I'd be nowhere which is why I'm somewhere here just like everyone else and I thank everyone honorably, sincerely and respectively that is even remotely associated with Jack's ZYMIC at any participation level from full blown to the hard to locate first time web.

I don't believe anyone anywhere should be afraid or feel insecure about even the most perceptively (appearing) meagerness and meaningless attempt at giving/gaining knowledge (never look a gift horse in the mouth - accept it for what it is and employ it respective to its ability and/or condition - the days work will eventually be an accomplished goal). We all have scotoma's and therefore I understand that most perceptions are false.

Thank you both for your truthfulness - for without it we would all be living a lie here, I mean it!

I'll update the original thread post in the morning after I've gone through for IR7 (I don't own a newer Adobe Product).

OH I'm sorry, I misread your post. I thought you were asking us to remove it based on this sentence.

.. . . I apologize for the misunderstanding.

I don't believe an apology is necessary IamShipon1988, (I know the Zymic Team - you included - has (- have -) been throughly busy these past days) but If you'd like I'll accept your apology.

I do respectfully ask that the Zymic Team examine the 3-State Rollover Button for IR3 & IR7 Illustrated Tutorial that was submitted in the Tutorial Forum about the 24th that is distinctly separate from the flawed tutorial. Thanks
