hi i am new to this and i just uploaded my site i designed for a college project and when i go to go on to the site a message appears saying forbidden then it says something about a index.html file not being in root directory please help thanx

I'm assuming you don't have a index.html, index.htm or index.php file in your root directory. Just create an index page with one of those three extensions and your site should run just fine. Do remember that a server will always display a page titled index first!
