Hello

I want to be able to edit my MySQL databases but I can't because phpMyAdmin is going way to slow.

It takes 10 minutes just to load the databases page.

It takes a further 20 minutes to get into the table I want.

Has anyone else had the same problem and why it is going slow?

just upload it to your server.

Use PhpMiniAdmin, you can download it from source forge. Then upload it to your account and log in to PhpMiniAdmin, much faster. PhpMiniAdim is only ~10kb large (PhpMyAdmin is ~10mb I've heard ohmy.gif)!

That is a good temporary solution, but once the admins fix the problem, I would delete the PhpMiniAdmin because users to your site will have access to it, and if they somehow figure out your username and password because of bad php scripting they can defile your site.

Best thing would be to make the foldername as unique as possible. and maybe inside another folder, or use htaccess

still loading slow... i need to be able to access phpmyadmin without having to wait one hour for the index to load (serious... i tried loading phpmyadmin and i waited about 7 minutes, then went to my room to play cod4 on my ps3, an hour went by as i played with my friends then went to get a drink and noticed the computer was still on, looked at the screen and it so far only loaded the background color to phpmyadmin - i didnt have any other firefox tabs open or any other programs open)

It's impossible to use phpmyadmin in those conditions.
It's too slow... or it takes 10 min or I receive a timeout when selecting a DB to work on...

This problem is not new... Should I have to search for another free hoster?

There is really no point in complaining about it. The admins know about it, they are working on a fix.

I know if you all were complaining about this to me, I would make sure you wouldn't get ANY mysql access once i got the thing fixed. Just for being impatient.
