The point of a tutorial isn't for it to be "copy and pastable". The point of a tutorial is for you to read through all of teh code, and LEARN something. Don't expect people to do all of your coding for you, you have to learn your self. Stop taking advantage of good tutorial writers, and stop being script kiddies...

Even though you brought up a 3 month old topic, I completely agree! I love reading tutorials, because it helps me learn and gives me a chance to experiment with something new. Thats why I love reading photoshop tutorials, because I learn new effects or ways to do something then i can put my own personal touch and past knowledge into it and come up with something awesome! "Read and learn, don't copy and become more stupid!" --Yea I just made that quote up. I think? |

Though I may Agree that is for the most part. ITs still not nice to Call someone a script Kiddie when maybe all they really dont want to take and re-invent the wheel over again. I dont know if they actually took the code and claim it to be their own or not. Cause if you copy paste code, and then modify it, does not make them a script kiddie at all. Alot of times I have done the copy Paste then modify it. Just another way to learn from the code that was given. with tis i say Peace to all. |

QUOTE The point of a tutorial isn't for it to be "copy and pastable". actually yes, or at least if its what he (the one that reads the tut) wants to do than it should be able to. Now you guys said you have to learn from a tutorial, Ok, but where is the point of learning if what you re learning from is wrong. In this case its not wrong but has just a little problem with IE. But if you are reading a tutorial we (the writers) think that you are not a master, if you were you wouldnt read it, especially a simple tutorial like the above. So what are you expecting from a guy that knows little... find the error him self ? no you can't since he is a noob. What can be good to do is inside the tu explain that the button might not work in IE because of some reasons... and that puting some extra little code it'll work... Its not like it was hard.... |
