Same here, tha i looked and saw that i also needed a car, pay the insurance and the gas... so i clearly said know...

now : (please do not laugh at me)

AMD athlon 2800+ 2.08 GHz
256 Mo ram
80g Drive
XP sp2
Graphic card : type shitiest graphic card in the world on google and you will find mine.

Other than that, my PC sucks hell and it takes approximatively 2.45 seconds to load photoshop now you really see how sucky it is !

_____

Looking forward to a laptop since i the xps dream was a week ago.. something with Intel core 2 duo, at least 2048ram and 120g hdd, nvidia graphic card, i dunno for laptops but something as powerful as a 8800gtx or gts but laptop version... not so sure about vista coz it makes me nervous, i am really onto the Linux process and i really like the idea of being "free" so might be running Linux, or a kick ass modified version of XP, but i think i will not touch vista... at least not now...

Mine's getting near 2 years old now... It was pretty top-of-the-line when I got it...
  • CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.13GHz
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce 7900 GT
  • Memory: 2x1GB sticks
  • Monitor: 17 inch HP LCD
  • OS: Windows Vista 32(atm)
  • Hard Drives: 150GB WD Raptor X, 250GB Seagate, (250GB WD MyBook external)
  • Keyboard: Das II Keyboard (Blank keys <3)
  • Mouse: $8 cheapo M$ mouse because my Razer Diamondback broke :-(
And of course the Toshiba laptop (used primarily for coding/schoolwork)... It's less than a year old, but... it was cheap happy.gif
  • CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 1.73GHz
  • GPU: Mobile Intel 945 Chipset (Oh yah. That's right. Hot, right?)
  • Memory: 1GB
  • Monitor: 15.4in widescreen
  • OS: Dual-booting XP SP2 and Ubuntu 7.1
  • Hard Drive: 120GB Hitachi

I probably won't be getting a new PC for another 3 and a half years... Once I am no longer paying for this hole in the pocketbook they call college.
( Hey, I'm a Computer Science major, I should have a good pc :-( )

Well I don't have a desktop anymore seeing as it doesn't work anymore.
Though I have added an extra 500GB of storeage to my laptop through my new Western Digital External HDD.
Sound wise I've got a Creative X-Mod and some creative speakers to improve on the crappy built in speakers.

NOW THAT is a bitchin case!! I LOVE that thing.

Just an FYI: You need 64bit OS to take advantage of that 4GB DDR2 btw. 32Bit OS can only allocate up to 3072MB of Physical Memory. So unless it comes with it..

Ill post updated more detailed specs of my rig when i get home.

Pentium D 3Ghz
Vista x64
4GB DDR2
2x 80GB S-ATA2 In a RAID 0 Configuration - OS Drive
3 500GB S-ATA2 HDD's Spanned and backed up using Softraid setup
S-ATA Liteon DVD Blu Ray Burner
9600GT OC Graphics Card
Dual 19" Widescreen Monitors
