Hi, sorry if I overlooked a thread that pertains to this, but my problem seems to be different than what I've read. I run a couple fantasy sports leagues and your free service seems perfect for me in the short amount of time I've used it. I'm a total newb when it comes to FTP though.
I make logos for fantasy sports teams as well, mine included, and the problem seems to be when I use the direct URL to the logo (franchisefootball.clanteam.com/paydirt.jpg) for my team at ESPN. It randomly doesn't show up on ESPN...just shows an x for a broken image/link, but when I enter the URL directly into the browser, it shows up. Unfortunately, I can't link you to the ESPN page because it is a private league and only works for league members. Sometimes I will refresh ESPN, and there it is, loading up just fine...then I will refresh again and it's back to being broken. When the image is not working, and I right click on the broken image and try to open it up in a new tab/window, it says: "403 Forbidden! The address you have entered is not open to the public, (This may be caused by not having a index.html file in your root directory)." I felt like I was doing everything correctly. Everything on my page loads fine and the images seem to work when I go directly to their URLs in my browser. Does this have something to do with the permissions? If so, what should the permissions be? I really have no idea what's going on. I use FileZilla as my FTP client in case you need to know. My subdomain is franchisefootball.clanteam.com (still a work in progress) Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! |

ok you need to have an index.html or index.php on your ROOT folder or '/'

I do have an index.html file uploaded...whether it's in the ROOT folder or not, I'm not sure. Sorry for such a silly question, but how can I tell? If I didn't have an index file uploaded to my ROOT folder, wouldn't franchisefootball.clanteam.com/index.html not work? Like I said, I'm a complete newbie. Everything I know about FTP, I learned the past couple nights tinkering with filezilla.
Thanks again EDIT: After looking at filezilla, I'm pretty sure ALL of my files are uploaded to the ROOT folder, including index.html. |

Double checked that...it's definitely index.html. I went back to my ESPN league page and the image showed up. I refreshed once, and the image was broken again. Now it is broken every time I refresh. Seems weird and random that it would be doing this...I have no idea why. The front page of my website never has this problem...the image there always seems to work. Do you think creating an "images" directory and uploading the logo there would make any difference?
EDIT: I made some trophies for my league in the past, and they use the same kind of reference that the team logos use. When I reference the URL for these trophies (http://franchisefootball.clanteam.com/fsffbchamp.jpg for example), they do the same thing. Initially, they show up, but as soon as I refresh, or leave the page and come back, they were broken as well. |

Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this? I need to get the site up and running and I'd hate to have to move everything to another hosting service, especially after moving everything to Zymic. Are there some simple mistakes I could be making as an FTP newbie? Anything at all?

The only folder on my remote site is '/' and everything I've uploaded is there. There is an .ftpquota file that was already there...not sure what this is, just trying to be as detailed as possible. Other than that, I can't see anything that looks abnormal.
