Hi,

I am using wordpress for my site and now trying to add some images. It throws me the below error message:

CODE
Warning: file_exists() [function.file-exists]: open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/tmp//header-gtsy.tmp) is not within the allowed path(s): (VIRTUAL_DOCUMENT_ROOT) in /www/yyy.yyy/x/x/x/xxx/htdocs/wp-includes/functions.php on line 2340

Warning: touch() [function.touch]: SAFE MODE Restriction in effect. The script whose uid is 741741 is not allowed to access /tmp owned by uid 0 in /www/yyy.yyy/x/x/x/xxxy/htdocs/wp-admin/includes/file.php on line 177
The uploaded file could not be moved to /www/yyy.yyy/x/x/x/xxx/htdocs/wp-content/uploads.

Could someone please help me how to fix this issue as I am not able to even install any plugin.

Thank you,
CK

I guess I´m facing a similar problem. After setting up mySQL Database, editing wp-config.php and uploading the wordpress folder via ftp everything seemed fine for the moment. But now I´m recieving error messages on many functions, such as installing Themes, Wordpress Importer ("unexpected error. Wordpress installtion seems to be corrupt."), uploading files ("uploaded data cannot be moved to destination folder") etc.

Does anybody have a guess what could be the cause?

Hi C_K,

I got the same error message. This is due to the permission issue on wp_content forlder. Setting 777 (read, write, execute) for wp_content through ftp fixed this issue, but took me to another screen where it is asking for ftp detials. Entering FTP details does not upload themes or pluggins.

Thanks,

VivekS
