Connecting To Mysql, What is the MySQL connection information?

Hello.

I have uploaded all of my .php files including index.php. Now this is what I did...I went to my website and I am supossed to set it up by putting in the MySQL server information such as:

Server:
Port:
Admin Username:
Admin Password:


How do I know what these are? The defaults it gives me are:

Server: localhost
Port: 3306
Admin Username: root


But I tried those and they don't work. Where do I get this information?

Also:

Do I need to do something with Database Administrator? When I click on that it tells me to LOGIN, and to obtain login information I need to click the blue here button.

And I notice on the left side of the control panel there is something that says MySQL Hostname and it says localhost, but that's it.
