Have you created your database from your Zymic control panel?
You get those settings when you create a database.

(In the MySQL database section)

URL,

Use the first one on this page:
http://www.simplemachines.org/download/

(I actually used the 1.1.4 package and upgraded to 1.1.5, but that is no longer necessary)

Its a slow and troubled FTP connection on Zymic dry.gif
Fortunately Dreamweaver reported the files it missed.
I found Dreamweaver could handle the time-outs and reconnects if I loaded the folders individually!

Uploading the SMF (and MKportal) files took almost 2 days! wacko.gif

Also posted on it's own topic...

QUOTE
The MySQL Database is not working. I typed all of the correct info, and even tried wording it differently like 20 times and still wouldn't work.

I also tried making new databases and still no dice.

All the information is typed properly and this is the error I get...

The installer was unable to access the "xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" database. With some hosts, you have to create the database in your administration panel before SMF can use it. Some also add prefixes - like your username - to your database names.

Please help before I get angry, turn green, and start destroying my town.

Please help.

mysql server: localhost
mysql user: sitename_zxq_net_username
mysql pass: whatever you created inside the control panel
mysql database: sitename_zxq_net_databasename

replace sitename with your site name
replace zxq_net with zzl_net clanteam_org etc
replace username with the user name you created inside the control panel
replace databasename with the database name you created in the control panel

I am completely new to this and would really appreciate your help.
I have uploaded an SMF Forum and created MySQL Database. I then try to follow the instructions you have listed above but keep getting 'access denied' message every time. This is what I am entering:
MySQL server name: localhost
MySQL username: http://barltest.vndv.com_zzl_net_barltest_bar
MySQL password: ******(password of database)
MySQL database name: http://barltest.vndv.com_zzl_net_barltest_bar
MySQL table prefix: smf_

Can you please tell me what I am doing wrong?
Thanks

They were just examples.. if your username is 'bar' and your database is 'bar' then you need to enter the following:

Username: barltest_bar
Database name: barltest_bar

This is because the database format for vndv subdomains is different to the old zzl/zxq/99k/clanteam subdomains.

As you can see from this - Access denied for user 'thomas01155_foru'@'localhost'
your username is 1 character too long.

Delete the database and username and make new ones that are shorter in length, e.g: thomas01155_db

Ok first thing you need to do is delete the username you have made a make a new one that is much shorter, e.g. freealbumz_a
Then you need to apply all privileges to that user.

Server should be: localhost

Password, just type it as it is, no prefix.
