Hi guys... i have encountered a really weird problem which i also experienced with other hosting services...
i have attempted to delete certain folders in my root directory... first, i tried to delete them using the zhcp file manager but it says 0 files and 0 folders deleted. so i tried using an ftp client (filezilla) and it was deleted successfully. the problem is... when i type that folder's url in the address bar of the browser, the pages still show up. the folder is no longer in my root directory (looking through the file manager) but how come the pages still show up in the browser? Isn't this supposed to be a 404 error since the page no longer exists because i already deleted it? i have even tried deleting the root index.htm and i still have the same issue - my home page is still accessible. Please advice on how this is possible. My guess is that there is a bit of delay in the updating process. |

It's possible your browser is still caching the data.
But then again, I also had a similar problem. I deleted a file through FTP and it still showed up in ZCP. Ever since then, ZCP gives me nothing but errors... |

I've already tried clearing all my cache data and the problem is still there...
as i have already mentioned, i have deleted index.htm from my root directory and it is not visible in the file manager control panel. when i type my homepage address [http://mykz78.zxq.net/] on the browser, the page shows up... but when you click the home button which links to the same hompage (index.htm), this error shows up... Fatal error: Failed to connect to the DB server in /var/wkscript/db.php on line 29 In addition, the same error comes out when i type [http://mykz78.zxq.net/index.htm] As far as i know, the index.htm is automatically read even without typing it. Supposedly, typing just [http://mykz78.zxq.net/] means that it looks for the default index.htm and loads it. But in this case, including index.htm in the url shows another thing. For all i know, this should just be a 404 error - page not found. I really can't understand how this is possible. Please help. Perhaps there may be something wrong with their web and file server. [this should already be a new post, don't know why it is added here] After some time (almost an hour), the homepage finally shows a 403 error, which should be the case. The thing i have observed with this issue is that why it takes so much delay between the time a file or folder is deleted until the time it should no longer be accessible via the web? i think it has to do with the server setup or something. Administrators, please reply to this. You may know the answers to this. Thanks! |
