Could it have some disallowed files? I'm not sure if that would affect it though... hmm. I'll try it myself. What version?

i dont think it has sumthng to do with the files, i've tried installing joomla too and i cant add any modules or components either, i'm having the same problem. I also tried finding a workaround but sadly they all also say the problem is on the server, they wont allow us to upload files to the temp folder

is your folders permission 777? make sure of that.....

also, are you sure the file your trying to upload is a component? sometimes they get packaged wrong and it could be a module or mambot.

what component are you tying to install?

Any component gives this error CHMOD 777 to the dirs and files.

this sounds like it must have to do with safe_mode... but ill take a look into it..... if i have to make a test account, i will wink.gif

After a lot of tests , impossible to install component / module or other thlings.

Could you give us more rights ? I have others sites like http://www.korbi.org ... no problems .

it is a php.ini access thing furlopen needs to be changed

which means this host does not allow packages installs

just manually install the components... (basically drag and drop in ftp)
