Is their a safe mode patch for joomla 1.5? I only seem to find one for older versions.
I want to install a plug in that bridges joomla and phpbb 3, but that requires me to install a plug in and i don't know how to do it via ftp.. I added it to the plug in folder in my joomla root, but nothing shows up under joomla admin panel under plug ins... I think I have to install it via the joomla plug in installer but safe mode is on so i get this error:: Warning: file_put_contents() [function.file-put-contents]: SAFE MODE Restriction in effect. The script whose uid is 13472 is not allowed to access /www/vndv.com/b/2/b/b2basics/htdocs/tmp/install_486699eab1e47 owned by uid 2001 in /www/vndv.com/b/2/b/b2basics/htdocs/libraries/joomla/filesystem/file.php on line 298 Warning: file_put_contents(/www/vndv.com/b/2/b/b2basics/htdocs/tmp/install_486699eab1e47/phpbb3.xml) [function.file-put-contents]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /www/vndv.com/b/2/b/b2basics/htdocs/libraries/joomla/filesystem/file.php on line 298 I'm a noob lol and i'm not even sure what this means or if it has to do with safe mode but I think it does. Any help would be great |

Well, get used to it as Safe mode will not be turned off. It is a security risk.

Clearly you didn't understand question, and wasted your own time posting here. I am asking as I stated above your post; "Is their a safe mode patch for joomla 1.5?"
Now, can some on answer me that? I don't care if this site has it on, let them. I agree security is important. Now what I want to know is, "Is their a safe mode patch for joomla 1.5?" If there is one for older versions of joomla then is there one for 1.5? |

You should be able to install it manually, I've found this in the documentation:
QUOTE(http://help.joomla.org/component/option @ com_easyfaq/task,view/id,92/Itemid,268/) Sometimes you cannot use the automated installer. For example, very large extensions may exceed the maximum upload size allowed by your host. In this case, unzip all of the files locally. Then transfer the files to a folder in the the install directory(for example administrator/components/com_installer/components) for the type of extension you are installing (using FTP). Then use the installer, but select "install from directory" indicating the correct folder name. Not ever having used Joomla, I have not tested this, but I can't see why it won't work. |
