Safe Mode On?, Safe mode on messes up joomla 1.5's plugin installer...

Is their a safe mode patch for joomla 1.5? I only seem to find one for older versions.

I want to install a plug in that bridges joomla and phpbb 3, but that requires me to install a plug in and i don't know how to do it via ftp.. I added it to the plug in folder in my joomla root, but nothing shows up under joomla admin panel under plug ins... I think I have to install it via the joomla plug in installer but safe mode is on so i get this error::

I'm a noob lol and i'm not even sure what this means or if it has to do with safe mode but I think it does.

Any help would be great
