I'm actually working for McDonald's since something like six months (dont laugh I'm only 17 years old and i dont want to work there all my life),

I've took the list on wikipedia.
Jacob
You will be surprised how long you will stay there. I worked for McDonalds for 3 years (until recently). I started off at 14 as crew and being young it worked for me. Alright pay, pretty good conditions and they were prepared to let me do a Certificate 2 in retail operations. It was good working with friends and earning my own cash. Then I was a crew trainer (training all the McN00bs) and then I moved into management. By the time I reached management I had completed a Certificate 2, 3, 4 and finally finished my Diploma about a month before I left.
Now, just because I had old mate Ronald on my resume, I managed to score myself a job as an Assistant Manager/Warehouse Manager at a huge retailer earning $770 p/w + commission at 17.
So from running a little kitchen area with 8-10 people in it, to being second in charge/warehouse manager of 200-ish people all because I stuck it out at McDonalds.

Just saw this topic, worked for McDonalds for 6 month, from August 2007 January - February 2008.
Worst job i ever had, Ok i was one of the lucky ones because i knew the boss, but still... make steaks and sawdiches, salades, cleaning the lobby or washing the restaurant SUCKS hell.

I did work there because i had nothing to do on my vacation, so why not make some $$$ ? i got stuck there for 6 months and than stoped, main reason is that in France ou do around 34 - 37 hours of school per week, so you start at 8 and finish at 5 pretty much... and since i am graduating, (well was since i graduated tongue.gif) i could not handle the 35hours school, 20 hours McD on weekends + my home works and studies... its was a WAY to much for me to handle, seriously... sucks !

So i stoped and i was free, i have to say it... if you can have an other job, go for it... i think i am more over the 'market place' guy, you know work at best buy, or target or what ever store you guys have in the US... Restaurants ? never again, i promised my self... never... ever !!! (but its a good experience when you want to see how Low you can go if you don't work at SCHOOOOOOl !!!!) tongue.gif

Good Luck in your experience ? (did they make you watch the 4 video tapes on how McD is not just a restaurant but a family ? tongue.gif)

i worked at McDonalds for just under 3 years when i was 17, i swore i would never get my 3 year pin, and i quit just in time. $8 per hour is lame anyways when you can being getting paid way more for doing less work...
