Nearly a month ago my boss challenges me to create a new gallery script for the ajax, php, database based live editing Mass Content Management System that we have been working on for over a year now. So when I got the general idea and the coding done for the coding system, I needed to come up with a nice layout to fix it in for the corporate demonstration (which is a fancy title we give for live presentation in front of companies who would most likely use our software). So for that purpose, I designed the Hanging Panda Gallery. It is a layout that I wanted to show creativity, uniqueness and still have the child-like feeling. So before I go any further into integrating our layout, I would like to get some feedback from you.

You can view it here: http://iamshipon1988.deviantart.com/art/Ha...allery-88417945

Or view a coded version here: http://sazzadhossain.org/portfolio/panda/
you can view the gallery page here: http://sazzadhossain.org/portfolio/panda/gallery.html
(The coded version does not work perfectly too well with IE6 yet, and please do allow a second or two for the images to load)

Umm not sure if the gallery is actually working? I click an image and it just #'s the page (aka nothing happens)

And I'm not sure why but in IE7 I noticed that the green background where the random images are loads a teal blue ish color before the green loads? If thats an image can I ask why it is?

As for the layout I like it, but I'm not so sure how making a child-like theme is going to help your prospective clients buy the script? But what do I know about your clients.

edit-- answered my own question about the gallery working, it's not. Had I read that paragraph before the pictures I'd have known.

LOL yeah I haven't yet integrated the layout yet to the gallery script. So far the galley script has the admin portion and a table based basic coded. Need to convert it to a css based one.

The child based is for those clients who are partnered with the US education department and want to provide a nice gallery of their programs. They want to attract the children and the parents.

The reason for the "green" being an image is because the image actually transitions from a darker on the outside to a lighter color towards the center. Its a bit hard to see it now, but once removed it becomes a bit clear. I used the teal-bluish color for beta purpose when I was going with a different color. Just forgot to change it to the new one. Thus, it loads that other color before the new one. I'll change it when I get a chance later tomorrow.

Thanks for the comment.

Great design, very professional and clean; I don't really see it as all that childish, works well on multiple levels.

Yeah I recently decided to scrap the childishness of the layout. Figured it was really useless. Thanks for the feedback Ed.
