Greetings:

I am making a personal website and have begun uploading my files online recently. After uploading I tested the site and found a few problems with the index.html file of the homepage. I corrected the index.html file for the homepage in my PC then uploaded the corrected files. To my surprise I did not notice any changes on my site after trying to view it again. I then double checked if the changes were actually saved locally and then compared them to the uploaded files using ZCP and found no problems. But if I visit the root directory of my site it still loads the old index.html file. I tried putting the complete address of my site again but this time I included /index.html on the end and link loaded the correct page that I saved. It appears that the root directory is using two index.html files, the old one that is already deleted, and the new one that wont show unless you specify it directly.

Please help me make the correct/updated index.html file open. My homepage's URL is eduardsworld.vndv.com. You can also put in eduardsworld.vndv.com/index.html to see the correct page that needs to appear. I upload/manage files using dreamweaver and its builtin ftp program. I would greatly appreciate anyone who can help me with this matter. Thank you

Did you resolve this because they are both the same?

Nope. It's more like a workaround. So for people to get my correct homepage I need to direct them to eduardsworld.vndv.com/index.html.. If anyone puts in only eduardsworld.vndv.com they will end up seeing the wrong/old page. What I would like to request is for the url to use only the present index.html file in the root the directory, and for it to automatically use it everytime its changed or updated so that people wont need to put index.html on my URL to get the correct page.

Will do it later. I have to go somewhere for a while but I will be back shortly. How do I reach you in IRC?

Im having a problem joining the irc chat room. I still have to configure my PC to use irc with my firewall and router to work together. Anyway, I think I dont need to join the chatroom anymore because I believe that problem I have reported is a sever side issue. Since you mentioned that a lot of people is having a problem like this then that means the web server is not processing the right index.html in the affected websites' root directory. Have you found any solutions or workarounds for this or any estimated time as when the problem will be resolved for everyone?

He never mentioned that "a lot of people is having a problem like this" I don't know where you read that.

Have you even TRIED clearing your cache?

And just do you know, both links you gave (with index.html and without) load the EXACT same page.
