Okay, I downloaded SMF 2.0 Beta 3 Public edition (www.simplemachines.org/download/) and I uploaded all of the needed files to the website, however when I try to enter the forums I get this error:

SMF Installer
The installer was unable to detect any database support in PHP. Please ask your host to ensure that PHP was compiled with the desired database, or that the proper extension is being loaded.

Does anyone know what that means?
Sorry if this is a nooby question, I'm new to this stuff wacko.gif

I would ask this question on the SMF support site. You will probably get a response to your question then by people who have had the same error. It may have already been posted there so go do a search on their forum and the answer may already be there. I'm running SMF with no problems so there is no issue with it running on the server.

Dear crazy991, you need to first create an empty database with full privileges to your user name. While installing SMF, during enter the database info section, you need to enter the credentials of your empty database you created earlier in order for SMF to successfully connect to the database and populate it with sample data smile.gif
