What is Web 2.0? Well, i think its the completely users-driven-content websites as far as i think..

What kinds of things do Web 2.0 tools do?

  • They allow non-web designers to put their own content (writing, audio or video etc.) online easier than ever before.
  • They make content more portable than ever and easier to remix, mash together or reuse in a different context.
  • They utilize this user-generated content and the economy of scale/ network multiplier effect created to draw valuable connections between related users and content.
  • They make discovery of new content more automated and relevant than ever before.
  • They have the potential to exponentially increase the amount of information that any of us are able access, store and recall.
  • And it all happens fast.
Why is this happening now and what's making it possible?

  • Nearly ubiquitous broadband zips data around much of the world in a way that's effortless to users.
  • Data storage is now cheap as dirt.
  • Ingenuity, and the above factors, have led to the coalescence of the last 10 years of programming innovation to a tipping point.
That's what I think, right now. What does Web 2.0 look like? To get an idea, go look around these three sites:

To learn about non profit groups using Web 2.0 make sure to check out NetSquared.org.

Oh but you'd better believe that lots of other people are working on defining Web 2.0. One aggregation of top resources is Joshua Porter's Introduction to Web 2.0 lens at Squidoo.

King_Tut it is best you cite the content on the first post as that's where you posted the content. Also you may want to let us know which content is from which source, else its kind of pointless to cite.

I use www.hourdoc.com Time Tracking Software for my company. www.HourDoc.com is an easy-to-use, web-based time and labor tracking
system that provides companies advanced online tools to monitor and manage their employees. They offer free application to companies with less than 50 employees.

One misnomer with web 2.0 is that people don't understand there are two items that fall within that category. There's Web 2.0 Design and Web 2.0 Development. In the design aspect, many people use bright or dark fitting colors. They mix and match but at the same time try to keep the layout structured and easy to access; however, the prime focus is on the looks. Development on the other hand, is completely about the ease of access and availability of access, features, privacy terms, etc.

There is a new age of web coming within the next year or so. It may be called web 3.0 but it will be mostly focusing on Semantic Era.

In the words of my boss, Casey Jordan of Jorsek Software: "Web 1.0: people find data. Web 2.0: people find people. Web 3.0: Data finds data. Web 4.0: Simulations find interoperability & data!"

I think Web 4.0 will be more like: people find data who finds people who finds data working the corner.
