I'm trying to find out is if I can post media stuff onto my website but the thing is, I got songs from my computer that i want to upload for storage. I want to know what music files and video uploads I can post on here?

I don't remember, but I think mp3s and the like are not allowed.

And if you plan on using Zymic for storage...might wanna check out this news post:

Well, you could always, hmm, try uploading a music file and see if it works? Just a thought.
And if it doesn't work, then...there's your answer.
o.o Crazy, eh?
gambino
this doesn't answer.

I'm not on the staff, but I do know the answer, as would you if you did even the most basic of searches. I'd suggest starting in the 'Disallowed file types' thread. This has been answered there about 20 times...

mp3's ect are not allowed, due to copyright issues.
Andrew
It actually has been answered probably about 1000 times. mp3's wavs and midi's are NOT allowed. Using your site for file storage is not allowed. Even though you may have an overlying site, it's still considered file storage.

If you want file storage, check out the thread in Chatter Box forum, i'll send you an invite to dropbox if you'd like.

Oh, no file storage?

Blams my plans of storing files for my website.
Andrew
Well it depends on what your storing and how much i'm sure. If it's something you offer to download (like maybe free templates that you made and are giving out for example) I don't think that would be a problem. Just don't be stupid about it and split movies or something into tons of parts and upload the parts to your site.

I think it mainly has to do with if your files out weigh your site files, then it'd probably be considered filestorage. But i can't be completely sure on the rules. It's probably case by case for all I know.
