Hey all,
I'm trying to get back into designing templates for a long time I was working on a specfic template and it's giving me a head ache so instead I thought I'd design up a few templates and get some ideas from them.

Any ways below is what I am currently working on. I'm looking for advice/opinions on how to improve this template. It's not really 'done', there are plenty of things I could do to it but I want to get some ideas from other people.

Note that the feel of the template is supposed to be very clean and simple. This isn't a real company just made it up. I like the middle 'nav bar' I guess that's what it is, this page would most likely be an intro page or maybe a home page. When I code it I'll put some cool mouse overs on the actual buttons. It feels like I'm missing something though, but iono what. This is very different from any other template I've designed but I really like where its going and althought the background is simple I really like it (it's a PS version of a background I made in PDN).

*Looks up....jeeze I write a lot when I get carried away...lol. Alternatively you can skip the text and just look at the image and tell me what you think so far smile.gif lol

Thanks,
Kevin

edit: Updated template, added just a couple highlights etc to give it a little depth.

Emboss = tacky. This is a general rule of thumb for everything you make. Same with bevel.

your navigation is barely legible and the red you're using doesn't go with the green.. and yuck

Your skills have evolved but it's still not a fantastic design. You need to get a simple design happening so it is easy to code and looks good also.
