ok so i finally figured out how to get to the phpbb install menu
but wats my Database Server Hostname / DSN:

it says cannot connect to database
and what do i enter for these

i created a username and database name
but they dont seem to work

You need to Make the Database & Username and set permisions to them..

i did
i made it like this


pspworldz_brandonmcc-database name
pspworldz_brandonmccoy-for the username
and then i put the password
and then permissions
and i when it try to install phpbb


so it logs me into the phpadmin
well when i try to install phpbb

i put this
Your Database Name: brandonmcc
Database Username: brandonmccoy
Database Password: my password


cannot connect to server

and when i go to mysql management
it shows the things at the bottom

pspworldz_brandonmcc pspworldz_brandonmccoy * SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, CREATE, DROP, INDEX, ALTER, LOCK TABLES

if so make your database name smaller & username you can't have no more than 16 chars.

hi!, i'm trying to install coppermine, and in the Mysql configuration i put these:
MySQL Host: localhost
(localhost is usually OK)
MySQL Database Name : mariela_ilove-lavigne_vndv_com
MySQL Username : ilove-lavigne_avril
MySQL Password :******

but it keeps saying me these: MySQL error was : Access denied for user 'ilove-lavigne_av'@'localhost' (using password: YES)

i don't know what else to put now,
please help me!!
