The way i slice is completely different and I don't think anyone does it my way.. but.
I use gide lines and marquee tool for slicing.. Copy the image(control + shift + alt + c) and paste it in a new document. I also disable text layers and such to get the bit I need..
Umm, might possibly best if i recorded myself doing it(video), then you'd see.
Also that jaggered background thing wont work as 1px width.. It looks atleast 50px width, I think... umm.

Oh I didn't even think of doing it that way lol. I might do it that way.. seems easier. Also when you say jaggered are you referring to my striped background? if so i took the whole thing not just 1px. I'm not sure what you mean by that.
eh dont get this slice tool. your way seems easier but more time consuming.

what i don't understand is what are you not geting right ? i mean, everything is correct as i see, only not the way you do it is not the way i do...
but you selected the slice tool, sliced your images... header... top and bottom content on the little navigation on right side... didnt slice the middle i guess to include a css bg repeat for your text... did the same on your footer... everything is right ? :/
only thing i would of done, is slice EVERYTHING all the images and than remove them by coding... you prefered to remove them while slicing... donno if its gonna do any good while inserting the text :/
but what arent you geting ?

This method creates sloppy markup. It is much better just to slice out the images and code it by hand.
