Just so you know, im not emo....i dont cut my wrist or any of that stuff. I feel people in this department
need some standing up. Now i do not agree that it is right to cut yourself or any of that. people should get help.
BUT, i dont think by calling them names, or telling them there worthless doesnt make it better. Help dont Fight.

Cool beans - You can't however stop discrimination. It'll continue, you can try hard to 'help' but in the end people hold their own opinions that fuel the 'fight'.

emoruffino there are little 10 pound 15 year old boys in africa who are raped /disesed /and dieing of hunger and i bet they dont want to harm themselfs wink.gif

I see alot of blogs, myspaces on the internet about "emo" people and how there problems happen to be the worst in the world...well i hate to tell ya but tuff shit , its life get over it , and life on for god sake stop wining about it we all have problems some worse then others but theres no reason in containing in all your problems.....

I feel old now: Any of you remember the saying 'Life's a bitch' ? Well guess what it: It's true, Ye I've been dealed my share of shit over the past, Picked up a few cards along the way, Saw people die, Seen people kill.. People think that their problems are worse than all: Only because the problems they have are the only ones they see.. I have a friend who came back from Iraq two weeks ago, He went away with 206 bones in his body (Number of bones in a human body) and came back missing a leg and too many bruises..

I think the people out in the shit in Iraq etc. probably consider turning to the blades more than we do: They have real shit to deal with.. Not just a silly little kid with a knife and a broken heart, Shut up and Grow up.

If you can find other people who are suffering the same: Hell, Just past round the knife.

dam well I wish your friend the best of luck and im sorry that happened to him

You know the reason those people do that is because they're so depressed they make a hormone where they can't feel anything so, they cut to reassure they totally didnt loose feeling.

lol?

"Put yourself in their shoes", or at least thats what Iheard many times from other people... if your girlfriend turns you down... what do you do? laugh.gif

No pun intended, but I don't think harming yourself is anywhere close to solving any problems. Same thing as trying to run away from your problems, they will always hunt you down.

I've never harmed myself intentionally (Other than the times I accidentally fell off my bike, or almost drowning when I went to the deep and wasn't able to swim) but to tell you the truth, I value my life. Even though I got Hapetitis C that doctors accidentally gave me trying to save me from some disease.

Some people look at the dark side and turn their backs to the bright side of things. Please don't take this the wrong way. If you are a self-harmer, than it's your own decision and should not be given any crap about how you feel and how you do things. Even if you do it just for the heck of it... waste of time, but it's your body your decision. All I can and will say is, "It's not the best idea".

Currently, the whole "cut myself for attention" thing is cool amongst the "alternative kids". I personally do not follow it but hey, I do not discriminate.
But, in saying this I must also say that there are people out there that do have issues that a lot of the time is out of their control (in a sense). ON the other side of the coin, I believe, Life is what you make it. So if you have a positive outlook, you'll be sweet. If you have a negative outlook, you have to fix it.

NO NO i tottaly agree with you, I'm just saying thats why they do it--I don't cut, burn,or any other alternative way to harm myself.

Also there are people who may be under psychosis which may harm either themselves or others. wacko.gif..I'm very familiar with that, even though i've never attempted such harm.
MrTouz
Well cutting your self is 'scientifically good', i am not saying its good and do it, but the effects are good.
Everybody knows i guess... cutting your self liberates Endorphin :Wikipedia Def
So basically they feel good while doing this, i know someone that does it just for that, because he feels 'high' and good when he cut himself.

Now many people do cute them selves because they feel in pain, but how can a Mental pain be cured by a physical injury. Might say well like you said above it liberates endorphin... well does it make the pain away ? does it overwrite it ?
I personally hit my self when i am hurt some place else.... when i have a bad headache (i sometimes do) i just hit my hand on the wall so i actually know why i am hurt tongue.gif

Also some people wants to feel alive... but its crap isn't it ? damn you are f**ckin alive... can't you just ask someone to pinch you ? instead of having to cut your self ?

___
I try not to judge people, i used to be judged when i was younger so i know the effect but DAMN, you must be really stupid to believe that the pain is going to go away.
I think people that cute them selves are weak, and do not want to believe they are really mentally disturbed. Somethings are wrong... well go see a DOCTOR...
I do not know if you guys knew.. but its what people do... go see a doctor when something is wrong ! Yep...

Now the strongest argument :

Self injury in attention to feel better is crap. Their are other ways, many other ways that cuting your self, hitting your self, suiciding which is somewhere i don't even want to go because its the stupidest thing i ever heard, and can't imagine when we talk about mass suicide.

Stop acting like little babies, believe that others been where you been and they survived, stop blaming others, stop acting crazy, get a little bit stronger... go have sex (it ALWAYS.. and i say it again ALWAYS solves problems...)

SEX IS THE KEY

One of my close friends would cut herself really bad. She only would do it on her legs, and somehow, nobody found out for about a year. On the outside she was just like everyone else. She didn't wear only black, or tons of eye liner. Obviously it wasn't for attention- that would have been my first thought had I not known her so well. The way she described it was something like "Even though I can't control whats going on around me, I control the cutting" I won't pretend like I totally understand it, because I don't. What I do understand though, is that she's still one of my closest friends, and even though she hit a rough patch doesn't mean shes 'a waste of space' 'an attention whore' 'a poser' or (god forbid) 'an emo kid'. She went to treatment for a little while, and hasn't hurt herself in over eight months. I think a lot of the time teenage girls do it for the attention, but that doesnt mean we should assume everyone does it for that reason.

Every single person in this world has different life experiences and we all deal with them differently. So don't judge people when you see them doing something like cutting for example because tahts just away for them to show how much they are hurting and they are asking for help. so if you know someone that does that you should help them.
Synflinch
Sometimes I pinch myself lightly when somewhere else hurts for no reason, but I'm not stupid enough to cut myself.
halwits
yes i think its a great.

This is a hot thread! When I am depress, I think about hurting myself, but I am more afraid that I will get hurt so I never done that. For the people who harm themselves, I think they are sick and need some attention. A friend beside will be a great help. Just somebody who listen will be a great help for that person who are just seeking attention and wanted to be valued.
