From:Mr.Ahmed Douglas
Private number / +226 783 479 20

Dear Friend,

This message might meet you in utmost surprise, however, it's just my urgent need for

foreign partner that made me to contact you for this transaction. I am a banker by profession from Burkina Faso in west Africa and currently holding the post of Director Auditing and Accounting unit of the bank. I have the opportunity of transferring the leftover funds($8.7million) of one of my bank clients who died along with his entire family on 31 July 2000 in a plane crash. You can confirm the geniuses of the deceased death by clicking on this web site.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/859479.stm

Hence, I am inviting you for a business deal where this money can be shared between us in the ratio of 60/30 while 10% will be mapped out for expenses. If you agree to my business proposal. further details of the transfer will be forwarded to you as soon as I receive your return mail. have a great day.

yours,

Mr.Ahmed Douglas.

I await for your urgent call trough my mobile telephone number/ +226 783 479 20

NB, MAKE SURE YOU KEEP THIS TRANSACTION AS YOUR TOP SECRECT AND MAKE IT CONFIDENTIAL TILL WE RECEIVES THE FUND INTO THE ACCOUNT THAT YOU WILL PROVIDE TO THE BANK. DONT DISCLOSE IT TO ANY BODY "PLEASE", BECAUSE THE SECRECY OF THIS TRANSACTION IS AS WELL AS THE SUCCESS OF IT AS I AM STILL IN SERVICE.

remember everyone, its top secret. Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Edit:
2 notable mistakes in this:
1) 7 years is a long time for bank transactions
2) No africans were onboard, so y would an African Banker be a banker for someone thats not in africa

LOL!!!! I wonder what the qualifications of becoming a 'scammer' are because scammers are terrible at their job......lol. Now the 8 year kid that walked around the neighbor hood once a month knocking on doors asking for money because his mother was sick, then we get a call from the cops asking if we gave him money, my mom said no why, and the cop said his mothers been dead since he was 7 lol. THAT KIDS A PRO!!! I wonder how much money he made...lol

Any ways all email scammers could use a lesson or two from any 8 year old on the street.... atleast thats my opinion lol

-Kevin

Edit: just my attempt at comedy, or atleast my attempt to amuse myself, when ever i get an email like that I spend hours coming up with an equally terrible scam to send back to them lol, either that or I just send them the same email with my name signed...lol

When a telemarketor calls me and starts asking questions i turn it around so im asking them the questions, my record for keeping one on the phone was 3 hours.... i got bored so hung up lol
Andrew
Kevin thats a bit rediculous, how could you have been THAT bored to stay on the phone with them for 3 hours. Actually how the hell was the telemarketer stupid enough to stay on the phone for that long not realizing you were just screwing with them?
swordz
I've had that E-mail as well - about a year ago. Definately a 'hmm, this is a bit dodgy - delete!' moment!

I concidered reporting it, but wasn't sure who to report it too...

These sorts of emails make my day, you do have to wonder how many people have fallen prey to them though.

The amount of scam emails I get in my Yahoo! account is horrowing. I just keep on getting them... along with things talking about Viagra.

I also recieve them from 'Barcleys'

I know for a fact that
a) I don't bank with them so it is useless to me, and
cool.gif Banks don't send emails about bank details...

I also got a junk email... like

Subject: China has more internet users than US
Message: Microsoft to unveil new Windows to replace failed Vista.

1) Of course China would have more internet users than the US, as China have around 1billion+ more people than the US and 2) Windows 7 was put into production not long after Vista, and everyone knows about it, but there has been no media coverage yet, because noone cares yet.

And I have now found this in my deleted folder in my Yahoo! account.

The Internet Crime Complaint Center, for all your internet related complaints! laugh.gif

I actually don't know how much they can do with scams like this, but they gotta be around for some reason.
Your alternative, you can call Chris Hansen wink.gif laugh.gif

In emails, anything that involves money gets deleted. I had someone come to the house the other day with the begging pitch of can you help out, i'm trying to go to some distant relatives funeral in another state and I need some gas. The intimidatory type begging pitches is the ones I'm alittle aggressive about.
Cmain
I get about 300 of these a day...

My email address is a whore.
harbino
For some reason I keep getting emails from different addresses but all titled 'CNN top 10'

Its a shame that I can't tell Live Mail to delete all messages with that subject.

havent been hit wit that bombshell yet...
I rarely ever get any spam but when I do, they're always fun to read.

Lots of similar scam emails spreading like wildfire on every inbox. I'm just wondering how the sender earn from it or is there someone who respond to. I hope email accounts will be able to filter out these kind of emails even in spam folder just to stop those whoever have started it.

Yeah, I open them up to read them for fun aswell.

BTW you can tell the CNN ones are spam as you look at the link info and it points to a different website than it should. Yet the footer points to CNN.

I also recieved one about an apparent email address lottery.

I've gotten about twenty of those kinds of emails over the last couple of years. They always amuse me and then I have to sit and wonder who's stupid enough to fall for it. Apparently, people must, or they wouldn't keep trying.

i used too.... until i made a custom email.... ones with yahoo hotmail or gmail at the end tend to get hit more often then custom ones. just saying...

Yeah, I have noticed that. Except Hotmail, although I have recieved an email marked as phishing, dressed up as MSNBC. Someone must be brave, trying to pose as the mighty Microsoft, in trying to spam us. Although I haven't recieved any through Gmail.

I really need to change emails soon, I use my main one (admin at sovgaming) and I get about 30 spam mails a day

theres one thing i love about gmail, is that google will send you spam and when you click on a link goes to a page to help you learn how to steer clear of emails like it. smile.gif

I have two accounts in gmail.com and I haven't checked them in a month. Reading this thread made me check it... I don't have any spam emails in those accounts.

I checked the one I have under hotmail... no scam just about 50 junk emails from newsletter I signed up years ago laugh.gif Haven't used that account for ever so I have now 84 new messages stockpiled in that thing.
harbino
OMG SPUR OF THE MOMENT... I LOLLED HUGELY AT THIS ONE.

I suppose it weren't lying when it said Be Yourself @ Mail.com but I weren't expecting, that. Some cruel joke or someone actually wanting to meet me? But it doesn't take long for him to get back to work tongue.gif, although one problem is that I am not actually under16...

What you should've said was

"Well, I don't pay for my car insurance, because I get it for free, so does that mean that you would pay me for having your car insurance?"

or something like that...

The neet to move out this money arose when the prime minister of U K Gordon Brown said that some money heald in dormant accounts would be used to fund youth and coomunity projects for your confirmation http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/4017381.stm From my investigations and confirmation, the owner of the said account, a foreigner by name John Shumejda died on the 4th of January 2002 in a plane crash in Birmingham; you can view this CNN website http://edition.cnn.com/2002/WORLD/europe/0.../england.plane/ for details on the crash.Since then, nobody has done anything as regards the claiming of this money, as he has no family member that has any knowledge as to the existence of either the account or the funds; and also Information from the National Immigration also states that he was single on entry into the UK. I have confidently discussed this issue with some of the bank officials and we have agreed to find a reliable foreign partner to deal with.
