This is how:

I am doing this because my house doesn't have air conditioning and my computer can get very warm at some times because it is under my desk and there is almost no where for the air to escape.
Or you could get a $60 case with good airflow

my pc is in front of the window, so i just open the window and leave my pc open. The aire come and go...
I've taken one side of my computer case off.. to allow all the hot air inside to escape.. no need to buy a fan or use extra electricity.

sick thing! I do the same. Lay the fan on its side and take off one side of the PC's case. It works.

You poor people. I bought a decent cover and it never over heats. Lol @ sclek's idea though.

my pc is in an air conditioned room and is a low-duty PC, so there's not a lot to over heat

Yeah, unfortunatly I can't use fans as the motor interferes with my CRT monitor.
I propose using liquid nitrogen. I keeps your computer supercool and over clocks it by miles... or so what I've heard.

Only problem with that is, I've heard (and noticed because I used to do it) that more dust gets in when you leave the side off. But I guess if you regularly clean the computer you won't have to worry about it. But the dust can do damage if gone unnoticed for a very long time. (again so I've heard)
