Full Version: Member Number Count Off?
Zymic Webmaster Forums > General Discussion > Chatter Box
Andrew
Well I was bored and wanted to know how many users registered today. (137 as of this post)

So I was looking at them and noticed that the member number goes up by two for every new user instead of one.
So member 50630 registers, then another guys registers and gets 50632, then 50634, and so on. I wondered if this was an error or something the admins did to make the member count look higher? (even though the board stats have the correct number of users "We have 33,898 registered members")

Click the link here, and hover over the user names and look in the status bar for their member number and you'll see what I mean.

Hmmm that's interesting trip, there's got to be some sort of logic behind it, whether ther trying to boost numbers or something else.

I wouldn't put it past this crazy administration.

Well, I always knew there was a scam going on here. tongue.gif.
May be a modification was made to the counter script?

Jacob.

I figured out what was going on here, thanks for letting us know though.

It was to do with the increment offset in the my.cnf, it was still set to 2 for when the databases were being replicated to avoid data inconsistency.

Cool, I guess I'm glad I could help. Wasn't really much of an error since it really wasn't doing anything, but I guess it was affecting the Member No. under your username in users posts.
