Hi,

I've had a phpBB 3.0 forum set up for about a month now and it was all working fine until today. I can still post topics and have functionality but the layout design has completely gone for some inexplicable reason. trying to sort this out I entered my admin control panel and tried to siable the forums and change the style to see if it was just that style that was playing up. when I tried to confirm my options the following message comes up:

Fatal error: ./../cache/ is NOT writable. in /www/vndv.com/l/o/w/lowph/htdocs/phpBB3/includes/acm/acm_file.php on line 103

seeing that the file was not writable I went to the directory to try and change it but on closer inspection after hitting the confirm button in order to change the permissions, the directory would not change its settings.

can anyone elaborate on what's happening? Is it something worng with the servers themselves?

Thanks,

Cranstoun

It seems that its an internal server problem.. The admin people are trying to solve it.. Thats the news which I got due to the same prob that occured for my site too..

Just to add:

have tried editing the folders permissions through my FTP program Filezilla and that says:

Status: Set permissions of '/heroes' to '774'
Command: SITE CHMOD 774 heroes
Response: 550 Could not change perms on heroes: Read-only file system

Any use?
