Hello everyone,

I have a website here with zymic at a vndv.com domain and recently bought a new (not free, but reliable) hosting service at lunarpages. Since lots of people know about my vndv.com domain, I wanted to know if can transfer that domain name to be used by the new hosting service???

The lunarpages documentation says I need to "visit your registrar (the website where you purchased your domain) to complete this action" but I don't know where that would be since the vndv.com was free blink.gif

Thanks!
Andrew
Well you can't use your vndv.com domain since vndv.com is Owned by Jack, and he just creates subdomains for everyone here as their hosting domain. For example you might have registered eamatheus.vndv.com well, since that is a subdomain you can't take it with you.

However, you could put a redirect on your vndv page to your new page - or even to a seperate page telling them of the move, before redirecting them.

Would only work when vndv is working, but better than nothing.

Hi,

Thanks for your replies Trippin7464 and swordz! So what I had at vndv was a subdomain, that makes sense (sorry, kind of new to all this). I will follow swordz' suggestion of redirecting people from my vndv to the new site and from now on give out my new domain.

Cheers!

yes, we do not have dns control on our vndv subdomains. not like co.cc or uni.cc e.t.c.
