i am unable to delete a directory on my account. it had a wordpress installation in it. I clicked to delete it, all files were deleted except the theme folder. it gives error 'Cant Remove Directory : Directory Not Empty'. It has wpcandy and illcrimo themes. Plus, it only shows the theme folders, but has no files in it. I have tried changing file permisssions, but to no avail. Please help!!!

Directory Not Empty
Exactly what it says on the tin ;-). Make sure hidden files are set to show and remove any hidden files within the directory. .htaccess is usually the problematic file.

i chkd it around 10 times, there are NO files in the directories. I chose the show hidden file option in FileZilla, still there was no file in the directory. What should I do?
Keep checking, the error is there for a reason.

I had the same problem. What I did was go to my account in zymic and delete folder inside database. and came back and delete the directory.
I went to My account in Zymic/MySQL database Management/Lounch PHPMyAdmin/enter user name and password/click on datadase on the upper left corner/check mark folder you want or folder with most data on it/click drop (X)/click OK.
went back and deleted that ditectory.
Because you are deleting every thing to start fresh, I sugest you delete all folder in your database. If not, you will have another set of the same folders. If was 14 folder, will make another 14 same folders, total 28 folders

I also troubled on another issue... files auto-created by a bot as ".pureftpd-upload.48a3978c.15.33f7.3eb533d1" can't be deleted.... (in both web control panel or FTP software)
I'd like to remove all the folders and files for a fresh install of Drupal, but still cn't manually remove them.

Thnx all for reply, here are is my domain:
domain: citiengine.vndv.com
The folder is on the root of the site. Its called 'nnd'. Actually i m not sure of the directory name, and cant confirm it because vndv is down and its not letting me connect to the site. But I m sure it starts with 'n' (jst to make things organised I renamed it to a short form of 'not needed'). Check if its the directory name. If not, then lets wait till the servers get back. And by the way when are you guys finally completing the transfers? Please give an exact date. I have to officially launch my site, so I have to set a date for it.

well if there is a folder inside that folder and you transferred the file in there by FTP, they are not chmoded to 777, although, you can go onto FTP and try to chmod them to 777 faster by telling the main folder to set chmod to 777. I have done it last time, I'm sure you can do it too.

I found that by adding a dummy .htaccess file in each directory that could not be deleted, immediately deleting the .htaccess file, and than deleting the directory works.
