My website is: www.halowarscustom.vndv.com
And I use it as a forum, which is: www.halowarscustom.vndv.com/forum using phpBB3

But when I tried to access the site today, I got an error message saying that the computer was "Unable to delete files within ./cache/. Please check directory permissions" like this:

I checked the directory permissions of the cache folder in the file manager, and all permissions were already applied for both u and g. Can anyone offer any insight into this problem? The site worked fine when I checked it yesterday and I haven't altered anything either in my Zymic CP or the phpBB ACP, so can't see what's gone wrong.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

The servers are in read-only mode. I have the same issue. Search around the forum, there are other topics.

I get the same error message. Even if you try to change or delete the files within CACHE directory, it won't take effect cause the files are READ-Only. You cannot even EDIT your homepage. smile.gif

Hence the "read only" thread saying this.

Ok, thanks for clearing this up, and apologies for asking about something that could have been solved without doing so.

But, in my defense, there was no indication that this was the issue when I ran into the problem, and it wouldn't be hard to post that the servers are currently read-only in this section, especially considering that this is obviously where people are going to be looking regarding problems like this.
