I've had issues in the past with the font tool, whenever I would click the font box (and not bring the dropdown out) and just use my scroll wheel to browse through the fonts photoshop would crash, but it wouldn't crash like yours. It would freeze and then eat up ALLL my system ram it could. My computer would almost slow to a halt, and I would be able to finally get to the task manager and shut it down... I never figured out exactly WHY that happened, I just knew never to do it again.

What were you doing exactly when it happens? Is it the same every time or just random? And also are you able to uninstall it and reinstall? Sometimes that might help (even though it doesn't seem like it would).

yeah alwasy random lol and mine some times does the thing your talking about but always random like say I would try to apply a gradient and it would freeze , but every crash was at random , one time i was making buttons another I was coloring some effects and one i was putting some gradients...

Have you set up your Photoshop scratch disks properly and provided enough RAM/memory for the app?

I don't know about PS3, but in my old Photoshop version, you go to Edit > Preferences and then make the required changes.

This is the only solution that occurs to me right now. Usually, Photoshop is a sturdy app and personally, I've never suffered crashes. Of course, I haven't tried the newer CS3 version[s].

All the best smile.gif .

I always had a problem with Photoshop CS3, that's why I just use CS2. I don't have any problems with things like that and it still does what I need it to do. You may want to consider downgrading if your graphical talents can afford to lose any extra features CS3 offers. wink.gif Just a suggestion.

I might downgrade no I only make templates so its not any loss to me , how ever Im not looking forward to the download...

It might be version cue thats the problem. If your adobe crashes for no reason or when you try to open a new document or something and it crashes this is due to version cue being turned on. Do the following i even provided screenshots XD Turn off version cue . Untick that box shown below

Jenie
i still use CS2 because with it i have no limitations...(actually..im still not familiar with cs3..) tongue.gif
