so i log into my control panel and click on the Website Statistics link (Here) but it just sends me to a site asking to log in. do i need to create an account there also?! thanks for any help.

I had huge problems with those stats - and now don't use them at all. I suggest Google Analytics - they've been very good for me.

For some reason, I have also never been able to get the stats to work. I would go with your own tracking system such as a PHP/MySQL file(s) that record it all and spit it all out on one page for you.

Jacob.

kk thank you. i will look into them.
Andrew
Those stats used to work (at least with the old server) but they still were very poor stats. I suggest either running your own php script or using Google Analytics.

Personally I think that running your own script is the better option, you get WAY more control over it, and you don't have to rely on a third party to count your traffic. (You don't know if they are losing some...)

i signed up with Google Analytics today. i will look into it and see. if i dont like it, i will use my own php scripts.

Google Analytics is FANTASTIC! They provide so MUCH information! I can't imagine why you wouldn't like it. Well, anyway, try it out. You'll be amazed.
Andrew
They actually don't provide THAT much information. At least in comparison to some self hosted scripts. They display it with the "gloss" but don't provide much else besides that. It honestly reminds me of a mac when I see their page, dumbed down and pretty. I'd rather take the linux approach and get ALL my stats in the nitty gritty.
