I once got a message like this. It's someone who is obviously using a webmail software to send mail to others. They select fake e-mail address and send it to random people. I think the FBI should deal with this issue. It is a pain in the a*s.

It's very easy to fake a from email address. Check the email's headers to see where it really originated from.

im pretty sure the fbi would not contact you on msn.

Exactly. You wouldn't be told on MSN you'd most likely be issued with a subpoena to your email or home address if there was cause for concern.

I'm sure they wouldn't threaten to burn down your house too , definitely a fake, you can register for any email that's not taken, it appears as 'unverified' because the email verification sent to 'laws@fbi.gov' hasn't been responded to, if it were, then that 'unverified' would disappear. The spanner who did register it would have their IP address logged, now I remember a time when the verification email sent used to state the IP address who registered it... I hope this backfires for them

In addition to what Bread said, they will not threaten you with the statement that they will burn down your house. It is very funny but I think they would have better conventional methods.

on that and not have to verify it to use it ...The put email address not verified on your name

they should make you verify before using MSN....

They Could do it through telnet .. because you can fake emails from microsoft from there i did it 2 my step dad lol
