Basically, I don't know how to work with mysql. Plus, I do not any good tutorials that might have explained us here on zymic but I could not find none here.

I have also looked through some online tutorials the thing is, I want someone to explain me them easily so that I may work with them. Help would be appreciated.

I want to create login/register part for my site. I would like to have piece of advice and help on them, thanks in advance.

Also, I would like to know, how many people can register with my site or is the number limited or unlimited?

hi
no one will explain them as they were in some books
go and search for php and mysql book in Google and download them as ebook for free

here is some
learning-php-mysql-step-by-step
or
John Wiley & Sons - PHP 5 For Dummies

best wishes

Well, do you have a specific link to the books download.

No, do not get PHP 5 for Dummies.. Absolutely the worst PHP book I have ever read.
Confused the hell out of me.

PHP & MySQL In Easy Steps is the book that taught me everything I know. Examples for all demonstrations, color-coded and color pictures to show you what it's SUPPOSED to look like.

Best book ever for myself.

Hope it helps.

You could start learning from basicly dummish book , it's trully book for beginner from zero to hero....

Jetteh22: The book you gave was not a free one.

nostroDemuz: Please could you refer me the link?
Andrew
Jetteh never said it was free.

And I agree, the "for dummies" series in general is just bad. It will teach you a couple things, but nothing that you'll really need to get started. I had a php for dummies book, came with CD and everything, and the only thing I learned from it were all the technical terms and how to install php on my computer.

But then again I couldn't read the whole thing, it just gets so boring. 300 pages and all it did was create a database for a shopping cart. Waste of time.

Trippin is right. I didn't say the book was free. It's hard to find a free source that properly explains things and how to do them while showing you good examples all the while. And yet the book may not be free, but it is pretty cheap and very informative. Like I said, I learned almost everything I know from that book. I had originally bought the For Dummies book but as Fort Myers said, it's extremely long, boring and speaks in terms you most likely won't understand. The In Easy Steps book, on the other hand, shows many examples from cookies, sessions to guest books, emailing and logging in systems. Trippin, you should check it out too. Highly reccomend it.

I'll probably see if the library has it. Thats where I got the for dummies book. I actually never got around to returning it. (Think i've had it for like 6 years...)

@Trippin7464: Sorry, you did not get me. What I meant was, the book he gave was, we actually had to pay to read it, nothing else other that.

@Jetth: Thanks I'll try getting the book, somehow.

The fastest way to make a login/registree system with PHP+MySql would be to use a pre-written script and edit what you need.
There is a script that I have found, I think itll be easy for you to put it together.
It explains everything you need to do, be sure to read it.
Read the script too, it will give you some knowledge of PHP =D.

Link:

They also show how to make the passwords encrypted biggrin.gif.
Im going to be using this script for my site, as Ill need a place for members to log in.

Hope that helped.

lol, theres a login/register script in the zymic tutorial section that basically gives you all the code you need.
