Hello Webmasters!

I'm installing MyBB on my website. I'm up to the bit where it is requesting My SQL Info but thing is its asking for a Database Server Hostname and its not localhost because it says it cannot connect with localhost. I have all the usernames, password and all that right but what is the hostname?

Oh and also could someone please tell me what the table prefix is.

dbserver is localhost.

You'd have a higher chance of getting help if you post your details.

And you should leave the table prefix as is. It assigns the table to your script.

Ok Here it is and I am using Zymic. I need to know what to put in these fields

Database Settings
Database Engine:(Its My SQL)
Database Server Hostname: (is it localhost?)
Database Username: cheezcakeslice_forums
Database Password: ********
Database Name: cheezcakeslice_forums (I know its the same as the username - I made it that way)
Table Prefix: mybb_
Table Encoding: UTF - 8Unicode

When I enter this info exactly the same as I have written above I receive this message:

There seems to be one or more errors with the database configuration information that you supplied:

Could not connect to the database server at 'localhost' with the supplied username and password. Are you sure the hostname and user details are correct?
Once the above are corrected, continue with the installation.

No Worries Everyone! I found the answer. The name was too long!

I actually still need to know what to put for sql host name, im trying to install IPB.
