1. What is the bad gateway thing? It's preventing me from doing anything quickly.

2. Why can I not extract files from zip folders after uploading? I am NOT going to do it file by file, and I don't understand how to upload with FTP at all (the guide is not helping, since Filezilla looks totally different to me than it does in the guide). (FileZilla works now, reinstalled.)

The bad gateway is (we think) a bug hidden in the server backend, that has been created by the transfer process, and will be fixed once it's over. It doesn't always appear, and doesn't appear for everyone, and this inconsistency is making it very hard to find.

I'm not an admin, this may be wrong, so don't take it as truth. But it's my simplified version of what's gone wrong. Anyone who knows more, feel free to correct me.
